Hello Everyone.

New to the forum. I started making some tee signs and looking for some advice.
What size pole would be best to use to support a sign and best bang for the buck. 1.5" 1.75"

Here are some pics of the signs. Check them out and let me know what you think would be best to use

Umm..interesting. Good one.

I will assume that the metal part will be coated with rustproof paint or something and then add plywood board with tee info inside the sign, right?

How to hold it up? Either weld the sign's back to metal pole or pipe to be added to wood pole.

Otherwise, nice metalwork you have there so far. Keep it up. Oh, cool dog you got!

Its actually going to be powdercoated, then goes the piece of paper that is laminated and then the lexan on top of it. The screws will hold the lexan to the metal face.

EricJ- Thanks a lot, those are already done, these will be for Birds Nest in Arvada. Do you have distances on those?

Yep. Most of 'em anyway for pin placements on 8/23/2008. Not sure how often they rotate.

Bird's Nest was a fun course, and one of the few cons I had in my review was the lack of good tee signs. If you're putting up Roberts-style signs that'll go a long way to making that another top notch course in the Denver area!

Hopefully the sign for #2 will make the mando much more obvious than the online map. Heck if you have the rock-lined OB regions indicated on the tee signs as well that pretty much takes care of all the cons I had listed on that course!

Nice signs man! They look great. Hope you don't have a bad 'marker-thug' problem there...nothing worse than going to a sign and seeing countless " BLAH BLAH ACED ON 2/6/99" and such all over the front of the sign :/ Not to mention the countless "Rodney is a F*G" and "FOR A GOOD TIME CALL BLAH BLAH" - apart from the regular 'west side gangsta road dogs' crap that plagues anything that can be written on :(

Not exactly the feedback you are looking for, but when you actually install those tee signs be sure to place them well behind or way to the side of the teepad. I can't tell you how many times I have played on courses where the tee signs are within reach of the teepad. Needless to say, this could present a safety hazard or at the very least screw with your head on the follow through.

Lewis- the photograph is laminated with a little extra on the sides , so when I punch a hole through it, it goes just through the plastic, instead of the plastic and paper where it can seep through. Over that goes a lexan which is not pictured just to give more protection in case someone wants to rip it out.

At some of the other courses we do not have this problem. My plan is that if there is any graffiti to take it down right away. Fix it the next day etc.

Flash- I plan on putting them on the side away from the tee pad. There is a lot of room to work with.

Kuba,

Awesome signs! Did you create the art work too? If so, how did you do that? Is the lamination UV protected? How are you going to guard against fading over time? Great job!

DWILL- I did not create the cool artwork , a member of the club did that. Probably on a graphic arts program or something like that.

The lamination is just normal laminate so I do not know if it is UV protected. Going by the Johnny course, I know those were in there since at least last April when I started playing again and no sign of fading.

If they do fade, just pring another and laminate.

Thanks for the comments
