And now for something different......

A 4-man team-play event, playing 4 different formats (2 of which are match pay) and 3 different layouts on the Stoney Hill course. Decidedly not your run-of-the-mill 11-division stroke-play tournament on your local public course.

There'll be campfires and match-play upsets and dozens of lost discs and boasts, and at least a thousand dollars raised for The Children's Heart Foundation.

So take a break from the every-weekend routine, and join us. Start here:

The Battle of Stoney Hill

A little story, not so much about this event, as an encouragement to others out there who might want to go out on the edge a little bit:

In 2013, we decided to abandon the traditional format event we'd been running in October, and offer our disc golf community something different, team play, with a variety of playing formats (match play, etc.). That year, 24 players showed up---about a third of whom were family members. We thought long and hard, and decided to give it one more try before giving up. In 2014, we doubled attendance to 12 teams. In 2015, we filled, right at the last minute. In 2016, we filled and had to turn away a couple of teams. In 2017, we filled in 16 days, still 7 weeks to go.

So, folks, if you think you have a great idea and it flops at first, maybe give it another shot before abandoning it.
