What year did pdga member #10000 join???

i'm in the 9500's and i joined in very late '93, so i would assume '93 or '94 for 10k

Probably 1994. I'm 10285, and my wife (10286) said that we joined in 1995. Her memory is alot better than mine.

I am 10567, and my Join Date is 1/22/1995, but I think that must be a typo, because most of the numbers around me are in Jan of 1996. So let's say 1/22/1996 for me.

Most of the numbers between 9990 and 9999 are from May of 1995, but 10000 was given out in July of 1994. (There have been lots of instances of non-sequential numbers given out, especially for "special" numbers.)

(thrembo yours says August of 1995.)

PDGA 9999 is Ron Russell and he won the 99 worlds, so def. before then.

Did you find your "Join Date" somewhere on the PDGA website? I'm 11653 and I can't honestly remember when I joined.

Thanks to this thread I'll be able to narrow it down.

i was 9456 and joined in 95. there were some bulk lots of numbers saved for overseas at one point around that time. i believe ron russell requested 9999 which you could do at one point. i would guess 10000 was in 96.

This is from the pdga database, which I had access to back when I was on the ratings committee. I didn't see anything proprietary about these dates, but I guess the commish will come down on me if he feels differently. (If so, sorry in advance, and I won't do it again!)

10000 was July 94
9999 was Jan 95
9986-9996 were May 95 (with 1 exception)
10008-10021 were May 95 (with 2 exceptions)

So I think the answer to the thread is "May of 1995". (Even though 10000 was actually given out earlier.)

your number is around 50 before mine, but i joined in the states in 93 to start playing in the indiana fall series events.

at the point when i joined the pdga admin had quit and new memberships didn't get processed for quite a while... eventually a big batch got done together is my understanding of it.

Dang, the wife is right again, lol.

10444 and I joined in AUG 1995. I waited from MAY when I played a Worlds biggest event so that I could join as a Master (which at that time was 35 years old) I joined on my birthday.

But as others pointed out - you used to be able to "get or buy" a special # and all the thousands and 10 thousand, 20 thousand, etc got snapped up way before their "real time".
