Not as fun as the putter course but still solid

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Apr 25, 2024 Played the course:once

Pros:

- Three tee pads per hole, most are now concrete
- Infrastructure is good, baskets, wayfinding, tee signs, benches, etc.
- Washers in the ground in the direction of next hole is genius
- Lots of different terrain including grass, dirt, rocks, etc. for upshots
- Good variety of distances from hole to hole
- Slight elevation changes add additional factors to throwing
- Lots of trees to try and avoid but many you won't
- Second course on site
- Excellent amenities including a pro shop and places to sit down and eat lunch

Cons:

- Many of the holes feel and look the same
- You will throw the same discs and shots over and over again
- Feels like it favors the RHBH player slightly
- No true challenging par 4 holes, only generous par 4 holes
- Throwing off the top of the tower towards the 6 baskets stacked on top of each other isn't a hole anywhere here and needs to be an official hole 19 IMO

Other Thoughts:

This course just isn't as special as the putter course on site. I think this is still a solid track but if you said you played the short course twice and went home I wouldn't have blasted you for not playing this one. If you only have time for one, play the other. Still this is worth a play but I would call it a solid/decent course not a great one. If you just want to bag it, the red tees are pretty short and can be played in under an hour.

Well maintained; nice pro shop; course just OK 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 16, 2022 Played the course:once

Pros:

- Well-maintained private course.
- Great common area for folks to hang out and play bocce ball or foosball.
- Lots of practice baskets.
- Fully-stocked pro shop on the course that sells cold drinks
- Porta-potty and hand wash station
- Good signage. Be sure to check in with the owner. He has some good tips for navigating the course.
- Multiple tees for different skill levels.

Cons:

- From the white tees, the course offers very little variety. Roughly half of the holes are less than 300 feet and it feels like you're throwing the same throws over and over.
- Quite a few holes feature hazards right off the box. Just hit the first gap and hope (e.g. hole 4).

Other Thoughts:

Competed here for a NADGT qualifier and had to play from white tees, which is basically birdie or die. The course is unique for Texas because of the small fairways on so many holes, making it difficult to play cold. Blue tees are longer but there are clear lines for almost all the holes. I would be fine never playing this course from the white tees again.
