Pros:
The Flying Armadillo is an excellent disc golf destination. Awesome pro shop, a food truck with good eats, and plenty of space to cool off and relax in between rounds. Staff and pets were all super cool.
The Big Course is a challenging 18 hole layout with multiple tees. It features some elevation change and fairly heavily wooded lines. Tee signs are good and the layout is not hard to follow. Plenty of benches. There are several really fun holes. I liked 1, 3, 14 and 15 a lot, but the quality is consistently good throughout. There's a good mix ranging from fairly open holes that still offer some resistance to heavily wooded, technical lines. It isn't epic length, but there are 3 par 4 holes to up the distance a couple of notches.
Cons:
A few rocky fairways that will chew up the plastic a bit. Some thick trees that can catch plastic, and a cactus or two to watch out for. Some of the tees are a bit rugged, but usable.
Other Thoughts:
This place is awesome, so check it out if you're in the area. We make a day trip on our visit to Austin and enjoyed it thoroughly. I wouldn't mind hanging out and getting in a couple more rounds on each course. Worth the price of admission, no doubt.
Got a burger and some shrimp tacos at the food truck, very tasty. Also picked up a cool custom stamped putter from the pro shop.
