Pros:
North Cedar Academy DGC is a beginner friendly 9 hole course that plays counterclockwise around lawn area of the school starting and ending by the northwest parking lot. The course features a moderate bit of elevation and a smattering of trees to contend with.
The baskets are brand new Mach VII's. These are all in great shape and catch perfectly. One basket and pin position per hole.
The tee signs are basic but are more than enough for a short little course like this one. These are mounted on metal sign posts and are large and visible from a distance which is the best part about them tbh. But they do have the hole #, par and distance. Again, more than enough info.
Easy navigation once you locate the first tee. You won't need a map for this one. The course also starts and ends by the parking lot which makes this one an extra quick play.
Great little course for newer players. Nothing too long or complicated but can still be enjoyed with just putters or mids for more experienced players. The design is actually pretty well done for the limited space available too.
Free to play and should always be in good shape being on school grounds.
Cons:
No tee pads. Not a huge deal but worth noting.
The course is not playable when school is in session which definitely limits it's availability. There's not many other options in the area so that's a bit unfortunate but certainly not the courses fault.
The tee sign for hole 1 was missing which may make finding the first hole a little confusing. I seen the basket for 9 and ended up playing 9 first and finishing on 8. Again, not a huge deal but it's definitely not obvious where to start. There's no map on Udisc currently either.
Other Thoughts:
This one is a quick play if you happen to be passing through. Couples well with the nearby Dodson DGC too as a fun little one-two punch. Much needed addition to an area that's sorely lacking at the moment. Not a must play or really anything special but worth a play at least once.
