The rear foot has always been the biggest mystery to me. How do I get it to look like the pros. It seems that the rear legs turns inside and into the front hip. And the hips swivel so fast when the pros do this. Focusing on BW's instructions here I think I may have a breakthough incoming, but of...
This makes sense to me. I've tried wide rails and straight rails, and my accuracy and power seems to be better with straight. When you say it's 2 arcs, I never really though about it that way, but I guess that's what it is isn't it. The first arc is create by the rotation of the torso which...
Whats the difference between swivel and twist?
I'm trying this bowler finish, I really don't think the bowler leg thrust is what the Disc golf rear should be doing.
Watched the hershyzer, would you say when you butt is striding forward THATS the hip thrust? Or is it butt strides forward, toes plant, THEN you hip thrust?
I used to be a pretty decent bowler and I'm always confused as to what my rear leg shoulder be doing as I initiate the hit. Does my rear leg twist inward and I push off my my toes? That's what it seems like it should be doing... so ive been practing the bowler leg finish. Now it seems like the...
So let me just make sure I have this right. The goal is to not pull with the shoulder joint, since the shoulder joint should be loose and flowing and flowing to a point of closed positioning at the beginning of arc. Instead of using the shoulder joint as pulller, use the lat muscle as a puller?
1. Okay makes sense.
2. Thanks for clarifying.
3. Right, I swivel on the reachback, and swivel away on can crush. But I'm going to try to do this with adding more of a hip thrust/sway. It feels like the motion of the thrust helps you extend upright more... would you say that's true?
4/5. Will do.
Awesome thanks. Ricky's demonstration looks more like a hip sway than such a violent thrust like Feldberg make sure it seem. Watching pros in slow mo it looks more like a sway than a thrust too.
Very informative thread. Will have to field practice this for sure to get the feel. Some initial questions:
1. When you engage the lat muscles aren't you opening the shoulders while do this which kind of goes against the locked shoulder theory of throwing? Or Is it a matter of timing the lat...
Ah, clank in the bell, that's a good analogy. So the clank in the bell swaying is essentially the same thing as the Feldberg hip thrust he talks about right? https://vimeo.com/64171158
I made a thread asking about this hip thrust motion because it's become apparent to me I'm not getting braced...
Yeh I heard that he said that. But COG lets say is your belly button (around there is what you said before right?) If that COG location doesn't move left or right relative to his feet and both feet are planted during the swing, (which he seems to show sometimes and sometimes not) how is that...
Sorry. I just have No idea how a downhill skier who has speed, momentum, and gravity going with him to counter balance his COG being way to the right of his legs has to do with my question. Can you please clarify.
