IF a club has an annual policy, is it possible for the club to let someone run an event under their policy?
I have never heard of $400 for insurance, that seems really high --- maybe just a regional difference.

What I would suggest is - if it is more than $100, just sanction the event through the PDGA.
$50 C-Tier sanctioning fee
$50 PDGA insurance fee
Just a thought.
@20 years ago now, it cost me $250 for a single day, disc golf event, with the insurance agent giving his time at no cost; so I could easily see $400 as a cost today. A rather large softball program I am involved with, pays more than $7,000 a year for insurance! And...(and I'm in the middle of this right now) we are required to get waiver's of liability from @ 1,500 participants! What a nightmare!
Morning,
which insurance company can insure a non-PDGA event at this time at a reasonable cost?
Our club researched getting event insurance in our area. Capital Region of New York the cheapest we could get was ~$300 for a 1 day event. We sanction all our tourneys with pdga now because of the cheap insurance.

Curious why you wouldn't sanction as an X-tier event (you can run all kinds of non-standard formats) where you could get the PDGA coverage for likely less than what you find for one-off coverage from the internet?Since the PDGA doesn't cover non-sanctioned events, gotta get creative with insurance for my disc golf tournament. Here's the plan:
First, I'll hit the web and research companies specializing in event insurance, particularly those with experience in sports or recreational activities. "Event liability insurance," "sports event insurance," or even "disc golf tournament insurance" might be good search terms.
There are some companies like Sadler Sports & Recreation that offer specific disc golf tournament insurance. Checking their options and comparing them to others I find is a must.
Next step – contacting a few insurance providers. I'll explain the tournament details (number of players, etc.) and my specific coverage needs (medical expenses, property damage, etc.).
Finally, comparing quotes is key! Price matters, but so does the coverage. I'll need to make sure the insurance covers things like general liability (lawsuits for injuries/damage), medical payments, and maybe even event cancellation in case of bad weather.
Following these steps should help me find the right insurance company and coverage for my awesome disc golf tournament!
