Movement in top 10

I'd like to see regional top tens with lower minimums,northeast, mid-atlantic,southeast...it would be a nice feature for traveling to different parts of the country.

You can almost do this by searching for courses within 300 miles of a certain location (that's a pretty big circle), by the number of reviews you choose, and sorting them by rating.

I've sometimes searched for all courses in SC, sorted by rating and adjusted the number of reviews to whatever would produce a list showing Stoney Hill highest. What good are numbers if they can't be twisted to come out the way you want them?

How long ago did Flyboy get in the top ten? It seems to have risen to the top very quickly and I dont see it moving anytime soon. I like the top ten sure the top doesnt move that often but the bottom does, not like every day but over a year period.

Unfortunately a lot of people don't think to use the various search filters available, you can make all kinds of top/bottom lists with a little creativity.

As previously mentioned, the fear of thumbs-downs keeps some people from reviewing these courses. This situation creates a dynamic that floods some of these course's reviews with a number of "drive-by" reviews. I won't let that happen with my upcoming reviews, but I doubt mine will be able to make paradigm shifts in the Top 10. I just returned from a disc golf trip where I played 2 of the current Top 10 and Winter Park which recently fell out of the list.

If you drop the filter to 5 reviews, then all of the top 10 courses are still in the Top 25. If you drop it to only 10 reviews, then the current Top 10 list is almost exactly the same as 20.

In short, if you understood how to use the search filters, you would see that your argument holds no merit. As more reviews for the other courses roll in, you see some movement...but very minimal movement at best. My complaint is with HBB, which is obviously more present in certain regions of the country.

I mean, if it were logistically practical to do so, I'd suggest we gather up a sample group of 144 people of varying skill levels and experience time, and send them on an all expenses paid 50 day tour of the Top 100 (with a 10 review standard), 2 courses per day, and then have them assign a grade to each course.

I haven't played any of them, so sign me up for this 50 day DG trip opcorn:. I would be able to give each course a fair evaluation with no bias

I've played 8 of the Scarp's top 100 list, unless Steady Ed is in the list and I didn't see it. If that's the case, then it's 9. One of the ones that I've played has no business on the list, at least within the context of the other courses I've played on the list. There are probably others I'd rather see on the list (Hornet's Nest), and I'd put Jackson and Sugaree ahead of Ashe County, but otherwise, seems reasonable to me.
