tier's?

what exactlly is a tier? There is a large tourney coming up next month that i really wanted to play in, but an not sure if i can. This is a B-tier event. what does that mean? thanks guys

In the simplest terms the tier of a tournament is just how much money and what not goes into it. A-Tier and up you have to be a PDGA member but any other tournament anyone can play. You will be fine playing in a B-Tier.
