[Other] Infinite Discs Pharaoh

Pharaoh

So, I threw my 3rd Pharaoh today. This one is S line, 175g. Fairly normal dome.

I've thrown 2 Pharaohs previously, a glow champion 175g, and another S line of unknown weight. I wasn't impressed with either of them.

Sadly, I wasn't impressed with today's Pharaoh either. IDK what it is with this mold, but I don't like it. The Pharaoh seems to fly like a much clunkier, slower Shryke or Corvette, maybe even a Dominator. The rim is noticeably blunt, and I don't feel like the disc penetrates well.

Glide was (IMO) below average. No good float. The disc will turn some, but not easily. The Pharaoh seems to be one of those discs that's tough to hyzerflip, but will turn and burn when you really mash on it flat.

Whatever turn you get on the Pharaoh, it'll fight out of fairly quickly. The disc also doesn't fade gracefully at all. It just decides it's done going forward and drops like a rock.

The Pharaoh is a MASSIVE letdown. It doesn't fly very well, and can't be smashed for big yardage. I was going about 50' further today with a G* Corvette and champ Katana. The Pharaoh flies worse than the worst Shryke I've ever thrown.

I see zero useful attributes in the Pharaoh. It isn't flippy enough for weak arms, and it doesn't glide or penetrate enough to go really far for bigger arms. There are about 100 similar molds I'd choose over this one.

Pharaoh: 13, 4, -1.5, 3. There is some turn, but the glide is weak, and the fade is sharp.

Are you thinking of unloading your stash of Pharaohs cheep? LMK ;)

My sample size is 4 Pharaohs, two Swirly S and two I blend. The I blends are very flippy. And long. The S blends are bombers (by my measure). I also have a Gstar Corvette that sometimes beats the S-line Pharaoh, and sometimes doesn't. They seem very similar to me, with the Vette being slightly more stable than S-line. Into wind, I throw the Vette. No wind, the Pharaoh. That may change as the Vette beats in more. It's already hit first available tree trunks many times.

Yeah, the S line Pharaoh is just stubborn. It doesn't hold turn very well, and has a somewhat dumpy fade. My G* Corvette goes 50' further on every throw. The G* Corvette has more high speed turn, FAR better glide, and a much mellower late fade than the Pharaoh.

I already sold 1 Pharaoh because it was super flat, to the point of being concave.

The 168g splatter x-out Infinite Pharaoh I have flies very similar to the 1.2 166g Sirius Millennium Falcons I have. Pretty solid neutral distance drivers at my elevation (400'-450' depending on wind for me). Maybe in Denver CO area & elevation they wouldn't fly as well? Only Corvette experience I have is a very flat flippy color glow one, probably 13/5/-4/1 kinds of flights. Less stable than the Pharaoh for sure.

Maybe a slightly domed I-Blend would work better and compare more closely at elevation? I don't venture much into the US distance drivers since they get very touchy and flights don't hold up in everyday KC winds.

Bag an US for tailwinds though. And hyzer flip shots that stay in turn long enough to not fade. (Unless they cutroll  )

I have three Pharaohs now, and all are better than every Shryke I have had. Just as long, but not as likely to be lost right. One of my favorite drivers ever.

I really enjoy this disc. I got the pop top swirly s-blend first and loved that thing, until someone took it at an event... then I got 2 I-blends and when fresh they may be one of the best straight drivers in the 375-400 range. The I-blends now are quite flippy but I have not found them to turn and burn for me. I tried out one of the newer swirl s-blends but it is pretty flat. This one flies nicely with a small turn and fade but is no where near as overstable as that pop top one was. I wish they made more pop tops

Assuming a flat release. I think the pop top s-lines are best for distance in the 450+ range, i-blends for distance in the 375-400 range, and flatter s-lines for distance in the 425 range.

Do any of you have opinions on Pharaoh vs Emperor? I know the Emperor is more Destroyer like and stable but the I and S blends for me are basically just as long as the Pharaoh. Maybe the flatter topped S Pharaohs I have don't glide as well as other versions, but I've had great luck throwing the Emperor pretty far.

Pharaoh

So, I finally found one of these I like. S line, beautiful purple/light blue swirl. Big dome. This is important, because all the other Pharoahs I'd seen/thrown were pretty flat. 170g.

This Pharaoh flies great. It turns a little more than a Destroyer without being totally flippy. Honestly, I'm kinda reminded of a Corvette. Fade is gradual, not dumpy like some other Pharaohs.

Most recent Pharaoh is something like 13, 5, -2, 2. Similar to a Shryke or Corvette.

Now, the ultimate burning question: Why does Infinite have both the Emperor and the Pharaoh? They're almost identical.

Emperor can hold up to FH torque & wind better. Pharaohs mold up & fly less consistently and can't reach the really OS levels of Emperors in premium blends. I've noticed that Pharaohs/Shrykes/Falcons typically mold up flatter & less stable in Champion blends (regular/glow/metal flake) where the Emperor/Destroyer/Scorpius can mold up more stable.

Generally the Pharaoh can be a bit more power & nose angle sensitive for me than the Emperor.

I've found the same!

I've thrown 2 Emperors, and 4 or 5 Pharaohs. Overall I like the Emperor better. Simply a more consistent disc.

Got a new Pharaoh on a road trip recently. It's an I-blend from a late run(can't remember right now). While I cannot say it looks any different from my others, it's the best driver I have thrown in a long time. Way better than any previous one and WAY better than any Shryke I have thrown. If I can see the run number on pics from stores, I will pick up some more of these.

I've thrown 3 new Pharaohs this year. IDK if they did something to the mold, but newer Pharaohs seem domier and flippier than what I remember before.

All 3 are star, and fly like Shrykes. Good glide, and a lot of turn. Decent drivers, but I don't really see what differentiates the Pharaoh from a Shryke.
