Better than before. 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Sep 5, 2013 Played the course:once

Pros:

Close to camp grounds. Nice camp grounds. Nice benches. They moved the parking lot to a much nicer spot and updated a couple baskets. Much nicer than before and my new rating reflects that.

Cons:

Coarse design is decent. Lots of hiking on sloping hill sides. No water shots besides a small trench on one basket. There's a few tee boxes to close to other fairways. The custom baskets are just ok.

Other Thoughts:

This is a revised review since improvments were made. 3 is a good rating when comparing to all the coarses I've played, not just Colorado Mountain Coarses.

Beaver Ranch Overrated! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 27, 2011 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Nice layout! Well thought out and great use of the wooded mountain terrain. Most holes are actually a chance to ace or bird. The lanes were chosen nicely making you throw a near perfect techinal throw, yet allowing for the early tree hit and still able to save par.

Cons:

Bring 1 dollar bills! This course is now pay to play and payment is made to a payment box that don't give back change.

Other Thoughts:

Its worth it to plan your day to play 2 rounds if possible. Its never a dissapointment

Off to a good start, needs just a few more tweaks... 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:May 9, 2011 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

This is one of the ultimate mountain courses providing both amazing scenery and dramatic elevation changes on nearly every hole. Hole 17 is one of my all time favorites as you have a severe downhill shot to one of two basket locations. The trees and drop-offs near many of the baskets make several holes here a formidable challenge, even for advanced players. There are plenty of opportunities to throw just about any type of shot you can think of on this course which I really liked.

Cons:

The signage and tee pads on this course leaves something to be desired. I don't feel this can be considered a 5 rating course until the tee pads are concrete. Like others I felt the parking lot could be a bit closer to the first and last hole.

Other Thoughts:

DO NOT ATTEMPT to play this course with just tennis shoes, you need hiking boots, tons of water and someone who has played the course before so you don't get frustrated like I did my first round here. This course does have a TON of potential and has one of the most "unspoiled" natural settings I've seen. Please keep it that way and pick up after yourselves.
