This is an awesome park considering where it is! It is certainly one of the best courses in the Denver-metro area. It is the short, fun, technical version of it's big brother Badland's DGC. It is the tightest and most wooded course in the city. As I said this course is certainly technical and will make you pay (usually badly) if you do not throw accurately. Hole 1 is my favorite on the entire course. It starts out with a 180 (or so) foot straight shot down a small tunnel of trees and shrubs, with the basket being below the tee (in terms of elevation). There is minimal room for error on this hole as going too far left or right, or ending up too close or far all result in tough shots through thick woods. It is truly a unique hole that will test you abilities. From here on out you will be expected to throw many of the throws you have in you bag... all of which must fit through some tight windows. If you do not make these windows, you will find yourself digging through this bushes as well as climbing in steep mini-gulleys that can consume your disc. Holes 2-9 all have a wonderful amount of creativity put into shot and pin placement. You will need to pick your routes wisely and hit all of them in order to stay around or below par. Other cool parts of the course include teeing off over a lake on hole 4, and a fairly tight mandatory gap on hole 8. Hole 9 has a hanging basket which is pretty cool!

This course does not have any long holes, but is certainly technical. It is for those who want to throw accurate throws, and not chuck up bombs. The technical aspects make it fun, challenging, and unique for the area. Almost half the shots are blind, making the course that much more awesome.

Expect to be searching for discs here. The "mini-gulleys" will consume almost every bad throw considering they line all holes excluding 3 and 4. These mini-gulleys are steep trenches full of trash, cement, and stagnant water. A bad throw makes them hard to avoid, and even worse once you're in, it's hard to find your way back to the hole with a good score. The signage at this course is abysmal. There are no true signs, and a first timer will more than likely have to scout half of the holes here. This being said, you have to scout them because they are hard, blind, and awesome shots. This place can also get extremely crowded and extremely windy. Considering the course is tucked away, you would think it would be used exclusively by discers. However, every time I have been there, there are always non-discing park-goers who seem to hold up the game for very large amounts of time. The fact that it is crowded and close to Denver includes the discers as well. Many times there are large groups of 5+ moving slowly through the course... and with such a likely chance to lose discs, one could see how this could take a while. The brush here could also certainly use some trimming. Many bushes and grass could be trimmed and maintained, and it would make searching for discs much easier.

This course is really a hidden gem. Part of the reason it is so "hidden" is because it is next to a much larger disc course... another part is because even when it is not crowded, rounds can take a while due to lost discs. Great course in the Denver area though. Check it out if you like mountain courses, but live too far away from them!!

Most intimidating 1st shot around, but opens up into a tight and technical course with great pin placements. Tons of foliage makes it very challenging during the summer/fall months. Most holes have a "green" that is separated from the "fairway" by lush vegetation and trees. Elevation changes, blind shots, throw over a lake, creek in play on several holes!!

Water in the creek is far from clean. Dirt tee boxes are rutted out and uneven. Can get muddy when raining outside. The views of the back side of Water World take away from the natural beauty.

Best 9 hole course in Denver!! Typically play 2-3 rounds here instead of the 18 hole badlands course.

A great shorter technical course as a bonus at the bigger badder badlands course. Nice technical woodsy challenge. Good variety of hole length and shot challenges. Can be played entirely with a midrange if you wish. Deep ravine along some holes makes for a chance of losing a disc... or at least having to scramble to get it and taking a 1 stroke penalty. Garbage cans on course are available and used. very little trash throughout the course... Kudos to the locals... but most of the cans were overflowing on a Sunday a.m. Need to be emptied by parks crew more often.

A bit tough to follow if it is your first time. I played with a local which made it O.K. Needs tee signs and clearly defined tee pads. Hanging basket on 9 is a bit silly as it is hanging at approx standard basket height... if you want to put it at std height... just put it in the ground.

I prefer 'em like this as opposed to "wide open arm ripper 500' see the basket and fly" courses. If I lived here I would likley play this twice as opposed to playing the mian course.

Is a nice wooded course that you can throw a +4 and or -4 score on any given round. Offers some tight technical shots that are a challenge.

Every round there is fewer and fewer vegetation that is being cut down for whatever reason. The picnic tables in the back wood offer a nice hang-out for some of Federal Heights finest citizens.

STOP the chain saws! It's not too late.

A must play....Nice two for one, this course had me guessing the whole time; thanks to the help of the extra cool local I met at Johnny Roberts in the a.m., it went pretty smooth; man talk about shooting blind, nice mild elevation changes, nice pin placement throughout, I went in the off season, if there is such a thing in Denver, so it wasn't overgrown just muddy from melting snow run-off.

Very cool, very fun set of holes. Would highly recommend playing it with a guide or at least following someone through the first time. Be prepared for thick overgrown grass and trees too. Bring water because it makes for a longer day.

Its a short 9 hole course but don't let it deceive you. The great thing about this course is that it is definitely like two different courses during Summer and Winter. Summer it is fully overgrown and will give even the pros a handful. Look at picture 1 and you can see that 10 feet past the tee it is complete brush. Only the best drives will get you to the pin.

It has everything you almost look for in a course. Tight windows with trees trying to steal your disc, water to help sink it in, hyzer holes, anhyzer holes, s curves, and holes where even a good ole overhand will come in handy.

The only cons that I have with the course is that some of the water holes around this area are sewage type and definitely horrible. One of those cases where if you would like to go in and get your disc you might come out with a few extra new body parts.

The name Blair Witch says it all. This course is so overgrown with the trees stalking over you through every hole.

If you want to work on your accuracy then you need to play this course. It has short and long drives. This course should definitely be a Par 3 for each hole, for those who say par 4 on some holes then you need to practice more.

This course is great after 12 holes of the Badlands. It is wooded, and out of the wind. The first time you should play with somebody who has already played it. Most of the holes you are throwing blind. You wonder with all those leaves and trees out there is there going to be any open space for my discs. Actually there is an amazing amount of open space that you just can't see from the tees. You learn as you play these 9 holes that you have to avoid the Russian Olives, the ditch, and the trees with the prickers on it. You give a sigh of relief when you get to the third hole because you can actually see the basket and the areas between you and it from the tee. 1,2,4,6,7 are total faith shots. It is a good idea to have a spotter on 4,6,7.

Some of the bridges over the creek are a little scary. People complain about the PVC signs, and the fact that the trail threw the course is marked by red tape. I just think that is part of the personality of the course.

I played this a few times in the winter when there were no leaves on the trees. I though that I should wait till I played it in the summer with leaves, expecting the course to play a lot different. Actually it was very simular. In the summer the golfer is playing a little more blind, but you still make the same throws. Also, some people play a Mando on hole 1 between the two tall trees with the red tape around them. Also, if you just want to play Blair Witch w/o Badlands you can park on 88th and Zuni and start on hole 4.

Really fun, fully wooded, short nine. This one is great practice for accuracy...there are very few great shots possible, so you have to work to hit them. Tees were natural, but nice. Lots of blind shots. Beautiful area in the corner of the park. Some holes were very special.

The creek is a monster...my buddy lost a couple. One time we didn't even know the creek was there. Needs signage; the pvc pipes don't cut it. The giant dirt pile on 4 takes away from the hole. Pretty difficult to follow at times.

If you play Badlands (the other course in this park), you have to play these 9, just to experience the diversity between the two. I wouldn't recommend this one if you are new or if you are unlucky. It is really fun for those that have played for a while, and luck definately helps.

Very technical 9 holes that plays shorter than the regular 18 at the Badlands. Great change of pace in the middle of the round. Heavily wooded that offers a lot of shade and tough drives. All nine holes now have baskets. Mostly, though, this little course is just fun! you don't often find tree-heavy courses in CO, unless you are in the mountains. There is nothing really quite like it in the Denver area.

Dirt tees, PVC & sharpie tee signs and not all baskets are regulation. Hard to find your way the 1st time through. The lanes are tricky with a lot of brambles and could use some more trimming to really define the driving lanes. We have already seen a lot of work on this course this year and hopefully it will only get better with time.

It's hard to review this course without comparing it to the standard 18 at Badlands. I recommend playing all 27 holes in one outing to get the full experience. The entrance is right after hole #12, on the way to #13, so you can just plop this nine in the middle of the round. You really get a full day of disc golf in if you play the full 27 with a variety of terrain in which to play. It really is a whole new experience from the regular 18. You walk out of the woods, back to #13, and you wish there were a few more holes back there. All-in-all, it's a great addition to an already good 18 holes. Technical, fun and frustrating. It will leave you wanting a couple more mulligans and planning your shots for the "next time" you throw this add-on. With some continued work, this "back nine" as they call it, might be a major draw for players who just want to play this one twice for a full round.

In contrast to the 18 holes of Badlands this back 9 consists of more technical shots. This back 9 is very wooded and has a very different presence from the 18 holes. Hole 1 starts the course with a very challenging shot.

There are some deep nasty trenches with nasty swamp water near some holes.

This is a good course to have a change of pace from the 18 at Badlands. This course is located near the tee off for hole #13 at the 18-hole Badlands course. There are flags in most trees to help out with fairway routes and directions to the next tee of site. Most of the tees are within sight of the ending basket. The course now has baskets on all of the holes. This course is a very fun play and is recommended if you are in the area. Not much up and down like the 18-holes at Badlands. Seems like this course is getting better equipment each time I play it.

This course is a fun addition in the middle of a round at Badlands DGC. Most shots are very tight which makes for a big challenge. It plays more like a mountain course than it does a park course. You will be forced to make a number of different throws.

These holes are so tight that it is not for beginners. It is very easy to find discs, but that also means that it is very easy to loose discs. There is an element of luck that is required on this course. Signs are poor and it is very difficult to know where holes and subsequent tees are for first timers.

This is a fun addition but my thoughts are that no one will play this course without playing the rest of Badlands. At the same time it is a very different course. I lost a disc in the water on #12 on the regular 18 but found one on #9 of this course, so I came out even. I also had a few local youths hanging out around this course which was distracting at times. They were just loud but not in the way of play.

This course offers some tough blind shots that make you really trust your instinct and throw your disc with confidence. It winds between trees and through some small openings. It is not your average DGC and I think that it is a nice change of pace with a variety of shots.

Because this course does have so many trees, in can be very frustrating at times when playing. Some of the holes use baskets and some of them use tube tone as the holes. The tees are dirt, but i think that in the case of this course, it is kinda fitting seeing how it is in the middle of all of the trees.

Walk the course before you play it or play with someone that has played it before. On a lot of the holes, you can not see the basket, so you want to make sure that you throw it in the right direction.

The #1 tee is located next to the #13 tee of the Badlands DGC.
