Pros:

Good use of available space
Neat course with some fun holes
Good for beginners or rec players.

Cons:

Short course
Houses can be a problem with a bad shot.

Other Thoughts:

They have another arroyo on the other side of the street. They should make another 9 hole to tie into this one.

Small, narrow course. 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:May 19, 2018 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

The course has some grass and a few trees, which can be hard to come by in Albuquerque. Each hole has a dedicated tee and basket. The hole layout is very straightforward and doesn't require crossing other holes. Tee signs and baskets are all in great shape.

Cons:

This is a small park and the course was clearly fit into it as opposed to being designed for it. The entire park is pretty narrow and bordered by fenced-in back yards on both sides. This makes losing a disc a real possibility. Holes are almost all short (most between 200 and 300 feet, with one 500+ exception) with few obstacles. There are no maps or scorecards provided but the tee markers provide a good diagram for the hole and each tee is within feet of the previous basket so it's easy to navigate the course. Several holes require you to tee off from gravel covered slopes where footing is difficult; just find a spot where you feel comfortable to throw. There is a small playground in the midst of the front section of the course. It's not directly in the line of any holes but off-target throws could end up in that area.

Other Thoughts:

My wife and I first played this course almost exactly 8 years ago and at that time we didn't care much for it because of the short distances and relative ease of the course. We took about 6 years off disc golf since that time and just started picking it back up again now that our kids are teenagers and wanted to start up with us. Even taking the cons listed above into account, this course is useful for beginners (and experienced folks returning to the sport) as a way to get into the swing of things without worrying about long distances or a lengthy course. Just keep in mind that on a really errant throw, you could end up in someone's back yard. For anything other than a beginner, though, this would only be useful as a place to practice some shorter shots. Maybe useful if you're already in the neighborhood but not worth a special trip.

One other note, the park sign states that dogs are not allowed but we saw two couples walking their dogs during the time we were there playing. They were quite nice and very apologetic for getting in the way of any shots in addition to one of their small dogs running over to give me a quick lick on the ankle.
