Pros:

-Mixture of easy and tough holes
-Concrete tee boxes
-Discatcher baskets
-Signs at each tee
-Only course within 35 miles
-Shade available on most holes

Cons:

-Signs too close to tee box
-Play over roadways on holes 1, 2, 9, and 10
-Playground in play on holes 4 and 5 and even in play on 8 if first throw goes past basket
-Bball court easibly reachable on hole 1
-Busiest park in town
-Poor Tee box placement/Pin placement on many holes
-Lack of trash receptacles/water fountains

Other Thoughts:

Considering this was Cape Girardeaus first attempt at a disc golf course, I'd say they didn't do too bad. As stated, if your disc tends to break left, the bball court is definitely in the way on hole 1. Hole 2 you basically throw blindly along a roadway. Hole 3 has a pavillion that could present beginners problems. Holes 4 and 5 not only play past playground, but also share fairways. Holes 6 and 7 are great, along with 8 if you dont overdrive your first shot. Hole 9 is challenging but aceable, playing over a roadway closer to the basket. Worst hole by far is 10, due to the roadway, pavillion, and frequently parked cars along the roadway. The best route on the hole plays directly over the road that in most cases has 4+ cras parked along the side. The pavillion is reachable on your first throw as well. If people don't know what you are playing or they simply think the park is there privilege over theirs, you could run into some trouble. On more than one occassion patrons of the pavillion have come close to starting fights over discs coming too close.

All in all, I feel a few tweaks could greatly improve the course. Considering it was the first go at a course in Cape though, I feel it could definitely be alot worse.

Pros:

- Only course in the area
-Nice mix of challenging and easy holes

Cons:

-Layout could be better
-tee signs right on tee box, gets in way
-no pars listed
-4th and 5th hole result in players throwing at each other or waiting

Other Thoughts:

1st tee box should be moved east of its location between 2 rows of trees this would create a line to throw with a low ceiling at some points and take the often bust basketball court out of play.
Some trees need trimmed or removed to make the course playable for the beginner particularly around 4, 5 and the 2nd tee box (more so for discs not getting stuck in tree on bad bounces)
10th tee box should be moved to east of tree to give more than 1 playable line. Also, the 10th tee could be moved somewhere near the old pool which would make the hole safer to play.

-Good first effort by the city and University rumors point to a second course in the works at Kiwanis park better location with potential for a challenging 18 hole course
