Worth the Trip 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 7, 2016 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Good placement of baskets. Good range of distances. Good use of elevation. Choice of tees. Fair pars.

Cons:

Tees are not consistant. A few are a good heavy flypad. Some are some old carpet and some are dirt or grass.

Other Thoughts:

This course is out of the way. Play if first while you're fresh. I had a much better time than when I followed another big course. Look around while you play and enjoy the hike.

Good Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 24, 2011 Played the course:once

Pros:

Chainbiters has excellent scenery on a great piece of property. The terrain is beautiful and the holes have some nice variety. There are some nice, bomber holes and a lot of tight, wooded holes. There's also some nice variation of hyzer/anhyzer holes. I would definitely recommend giving this private course a shot, under the right scenario (discussed below).

Cons:

This is a course that definitely needs to be played with a member or someone who has played the course before. The navigation on this course is borderline impossible. The numbering on the holes appears to be completely messed up and the navigation between the holes is not clear. In addition, holes 17 and 18 were nowhere to be found (or who knows what hole numbers we actually couldn't find). Also, the natural tee pads weren't the best but I can forgive that on a private course.

Other Thoughts:

Please heed my advice - do not play this course without someone who has played it before. It was a great course with some beautiful scenery but isn't really playable without a map (which we couldn't find) or without a guide.

Chainbiters 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 21, 2008 Played the course:once

Pros:

This is a very nice mostly wooded course that plays along and up and down a very large hill (mountain) with some very difficult pin placements that will make or break your putting game.
Challenging Gold tee's will test your arm and your accuracy.Bring all your shots to this course.
You won't be disappointed with this course.

Cons:

Nothing bad to say about the course at all. Call ahead to talk to Grandaddy the owner before just driving out there. Very nice folks out there. !!!

Other Thoughts:

This is a beautiful private course out in the country about 15 minutes from Fredonia,NY. Once a year there is a fantastic tournament (Beachwood) out there with camping on site and many other special feature's. Great player's party to boot.

Farm & Woods 2+ years

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Aug 29, 2008 Played the course:once

Pros:

The owners graciously invited us to play after we got in touch. Lots of variety & great scenery.

Cons:

A little hard to find, the first time (probably a good thing in a private course).

Other Thoughts:

The wooded holes are like a scaled down version of Chestnut Ridge.
