Pros:

For being inside the college campus they did a good job with using the land. Good clean course. Fun also.

Cons:

Hole 3 plays across parking lot which sucks. Hole 9 is by/over parking lot. So if they are busy you have to watch for cars. Plays thru campus so look out for walkers. Hole 7 is a par 4 should be a 3 as a good 175' throw thru a few trees gives you an eagle opportunity. Seems to easy.

Other Thoughts:

For what they have it's a fun little course.
Got a lower rating due to 2 holes playing over/thru parking lots.

the college course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 15, 2011 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Variety - A lot of holes have a ton of variety. Hole 1 is a super fun one from the top of a parking structure that dog legs left but can easily be reached. the rest go downhill, through trees, over concrete, or go uphill. most of the holes are short except for 3 and 5.

Friendly - Its a college campus so most everyone is friendly and inviting, and the course stays very clean and manicured.

Crowds - during the summer its virtually empty, i imagine during the school year though that it gets very full and will be super hard to play.

Cons:

Hole 3 - im definitely one of those people that doesnt want to shoot 400+ feet over concrete.

Hole 5 - gets very flooded, even in summer and the ivy on the right is a disc eater.

Im guessing its hard to play during the school year with buildings, cars and people all over.

Other Thoughts:

I think hole 4 is fun, a slight easy forehand through the trees down the hill is the way to go. It takes a bit of luck but im able to birdie it most times if it gets through. Its right by Cascade Gateway as well, so most days we just hit up both if we want to play more variety.

For me the baskets have always caught fine although they are looking a tad rusty.

I think Corban is a full course if you want to get some birdies, or show someone the game, or just get out of the courses you always go to. Its definitely not a course i would adventure out to, but if its on the way, or you wanna check it out once, i recommend doing so.

OB Crazy 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 13, 2008 Played the course:never

Pros:

Corban College, very interesting. Went thru a 3 round tournament there. There's a youtube video on site, Corban College Disc Golf.

First hole you throw off the parking lot black top while on top of a hill. Across the road, and down into a big left hook to the basket. About 300 feet. Hole 2, open meadow, trees on the border, and be careful don't throw too far or you'll go into the parking lot for an OB. 3rd hole is all parking lot ending w/ the basket in dirt surrounded by trees. About 425 feet. Do not hit the buildings on the left side. If you land in the concrete area surrounding the building that's OB.

Hole 4 is a doozy, You throw off a tee, there's a 2 lane road on the left going down the hill in front of you, it swings to the right towards an intersection. The basket is on the right side, about 300 feet, past the pine trees and rocks on the right, you can throw it over the road but don't land on the road otherwise it's OB. There's a huge elevation change, as you go downhill. Be careful not to over throw the basket area, into the parking lot, that's OB too.

Hole 5 is about 400 feet, it's nicely manicured grass wrapped around a building curving to the left. Then on the right side, it goes downhill, spaced trees and blackberry. I mean it goes downhill, not steep. If you make a bad drive down the hill, it'll take you lucky two rollers back up to get on the green. Hole 6 is short but interesting, you throw thru a series of concrete walkways. It starts flat, then it slopes up a hill towards the basket. If you land on the sidewalk, or go outside the "borders", or pass the basket into the road that's OB.

No. 7 is a sweetheart, aceable of a hole. You have to throw it thru trees, over a creek, and a rocky pit, a nice curve to the left. There is a path right next to the basket, don't land on that. Path is OB.. No. 8, a little tougher, about 250 feet, you tee off an raised concrete roof, thru a tight bunch of trees, I've seen people roller it, or try to swing around on the right side over the road. There's a small gap in the front, you can make it straight up.

No. 9, the last, another doozy. You throw it blindsided a huge left curve, over blackberry, gravel and grass. The basket is on the other side of the corner of the parking lot. There's old/new paint there that that marks an OB boundary. Check it out before you throw. Parking lot is also OB.

Cons:

It was hard to find the course at first, but just go way up to the top of the hill of the college and look for the Gym, there's signs pointing to the Gym. Study the youtube vid and you'll find your way. First tee is a parking lot on top of the hill.

Tees were unsual but easy to navigate. There are people about, and you can't swear or drink. It IS a christain college.

Other Thoughts:

I liked Corban College, it's extremely technical. You have to air it out sometimes, and other times you have to hold back and not over do it. Be prepared to deal with OB, which makes the course itself fun. The Baskets are great. It deserved a rating better than a lowly one, it's an awesome course and worth checking out. Gateway an open 18 hole course by I-5 is nearby about a 10 min drive.
