Another one... 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 8, 2014 Played the course:once

Pros:

+Ace opportunities
+May help get more young people into the game of disc golf. Also might provide something fun to do during gym class.
+Decent length and length variation. None are super short or super long. Probably a good length for learning the game. Would also be good for practicing mid and putter drives.
+Baskets are numbered so you can check to see if you made it to the right one when you get there. You can't see it from very farm away though. The baskets are also pretty nice.

Cons:

-Like most schools, especially in Colorado, there is very limited terrain to work with. It is generally open and flat.
-I only saw a few of the 'tee markers'. I didn't want to waste a lot of time on this course so I didn't try too hard and just picked a decent spot close to the previous basket.
-Many holes are pretty crammed in there and you could easily throw onto parking lots, athletic fields, sidewalks, roads, etc. I would really recommend playing this course in the summer or at least on a weekend if you must.

Other Thoughts:

-This course is like so many school courses in this state. It has lengths that are designed for students to learn the game. It was probably underfunded so there are no real tees. It is crammed onto land with all the other things that you find at schools and it was set on the open, flat outskirts of a suburb- hardly optimal disc golfing.

Not Worth the Hassle 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Nov 25, 2012 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

-Nice brand new DGA baskets
-On a well-taken care of school campus, with nice grass and very little opportunity to lose a disc
-Introduces students to the game
-Some wide open holes that give you a chance to test out new shots or new discs.
-Hole 4 throwing over the tennis courts is unique

Cons:

-No tee-signs and the course is terribly marked
-Some of the tee-pads are on the sidewalk, while others are on the grass, but they are all very hard to find and not marked well at all, the spray paint on the sidewalk is really easy to miss. Without the pictures on this site, I would have never found some of the tee-pads.
-Due to badly marked tee-signs and hard to find tee-pads this course is almost impossible to navigate.
-The number of each basket is scratched into the center pole of the basket and very hard to see, so its hard to know if you are throwing to the right basket.
-Lots of safety issues. Holes throw over sidewalks, over and near parking lots, over tennis courts, near sporting fields, near buildings, and near a busy road.
-Due to these issues this course is all but unplayable during school hours or special events.
-None of the holes are overly long
-Other than hole 4 none of the other holes are that interesting, most of them are just wide open shots.

Other Thoughts:

This course is not well thought and needs a redesign and better tee-pad markings. It has potential if it is redesigned to avoid some of the safety issues but as of now, it is not worth the hassle of playing or trying to navigate it.

never play here 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 10, 2012 Played the course:once

Pros:

cant really think of any

Cons:

poorly marked, there is never a good time to play it because of all the students, short, flat, student tried to toss my disc on the roof one time.

Other Thoughts:

the baskets from this course and Schaefer should be pulled and used for a real disc golf course in Bear Creek Park.
