Pros:
Dakota Ridge High School is home to a pretty well done 9 hole course that wraps around the school. The course starts on the north end of the SW parking lot and plays clockwise around the school, finishing on the SE side near the parking lot. Very easy to follow for the most part.
The baskets here are all in good shape and caught nicely. It says DGA's on the info page but I'm almost certain they're Chainstars. Either way, all are present and get the job done just fine. One basket and pin position per hole.
They managed to find a section of concrete for all nine tees. This was another pleasant surprise. They have a red spraypainted rectangle with a DR and the hole number in blue on every one of these which made finding the actual location pretty simple. There were a few metal tee signs too, though only on about half the holes or so. These had the hole # and distance.
The course is pretty much completely flat with zero natural obstacles. They did use some small hillsides and the tennis court fence to add a bit of challenge at least.
Cons:
The tee signs that were still present must've been from some previous iteration of the course. The distances on these were nowhere close to the actual distance. Not a huge deal since you can see almost every basket, but not all of them.
Not playable during school hours obviously, so that limits it's availability.
Pretty repetitive. Not much replay value unless you live nearby, even then there's probably much better options.
Hole 9's tee pad is on an angle. It's not a super severe angle, but it's annoying enough. This would've been one to just have on the grass.
Other Thoughts:
This was a pretty well done school course. I've played much, much worse than this. It's good for what it is and would actually be nice for the students attending school here with it's simple layout.
That said, play it if you must. Not worth taking any extra time out of your day to play here though.
