Rocky! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:May 1, 2016 Played the course:once

Pros:

Very creative holes including one in a tree. Also, you can tell the keepers of the course are trying their best to make this course enjoyable. I liked hole 5 and 6 layout, and hole 1 is a nice tee off hole. The signs were great and most holes had a concrete pad. Trash cans were always right where I needed them. Beautiful scenery including a creek bed and we actually saw 2 deer in the valley.

Cons:

The terrain is unbelievably rocky and hilly. I made fantastic shots through the MANY trees only to find that my disc's got all chewed up on the jagged rocks EVERYWHERE on the ground! Your discs WILL get messed up at this course. The rocks are so jagged and sharp that even a mid range or missed putt will no doubt chip, gouge, & shred. Also, prepare to hike: A LOT. No sandals here! I went with 3 other people and every one of us rolled our ankles at least twice due to the tough terrain and rocks. Also, it was kind of hard to find the next holes at times.

Other Thoughts:

I think that this course has a bit too many trees and DEFINITELY too many rocks to make it as a great course. I do appreciate very much the effort that the guys that maintain it put in, but the terrain is just to steep, rocky, and wooded to make it very enjoyable and fun. We did get quite a bit of ticks on us, but I'm from the Ozarks and expected this so not a downfall of this course. I would love to see what the guys running this course could put together with a more forgiving piece of land due to their creativity & upkeep.

***UPDATE*** I have played this course 3 more times since my last review and I must say that while I may have been a little bit harsh with the chewing up the discs ( I guess I have improved my shot quite a bit since first reviewed), I still agree with my initial con complaint of rocky. The last time I went, 2 people fell down, another cut his leg on a sharp rock. All of us are athletic guys. The course is definitely more fun the more experienced you get. I have upped my score of this hole from my previous rating.
