Unidentified Flying Fun

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 9, 2024 Played the course:once

Pros:

Short and Long pads offer something for players of all skill sets.
Multiple pins on most holes.
An elevated basket.
There are a few creek carries that add a little spice to this desert course.
The lines are all nice and you will need to be able to shape shots in order to score well here.
This course has a good mix of short, moderate, and longer holes to test your throwing abilities.
The pads are ample and the signage does its job for the most part.
Also there is a decent mix of left and right shaped shots.

Cons:

There is a walking path that comes into play primarily on the front 9. Therefore they have added several mandos forcing you to shape shots for the safety of all park goers.
Long walks from 3's basket to 4's tee, 6's basket to 7's tee, and 14's basket to 15's tee slows the flow of the round down a bit here.
There is a park and pavilion close to holes 14 and 16 and it seems to be a popular spot so please pay attention before you let it rip.
There's not a lot of shade here and I sure those rounds in the summer get a tad roasty.

Other Thoughts:

Overall this is a fun park style course that offers a variety of lines. You will need a good overall game in order to score well here. This is a park style disc golf course and it was seeing some good traffic on a nice Sunday in early March. The park itself is nicely kept and there are other amenities to do at Enchanted Lands.
A solid play even for those that are Alien to the area.

Nice Park Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 7, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

Reading the reviews before playing here, I was worried about the signage of the tees and getting lost. Fortunately, there was a paper map located at the welcome sign that led me throughout the course with no problems. Yes, there are some holes that are incorrectly marked or not marked at all but I've uploaded the paper course map here that will not lead you astray. It shows you both the advanced and amateur tees.
-Unique
- Good for FH and BH throwers

Cons:

I'm not a course snob by any means so it's rare that I say anything beyond "wish it had more shade". Every course is unique and this course is no different.
-Some tees are smaller

Other Thoughts:

If you're driving through, definitely worth stopping in and playing. Use the paper map I've uploaded and it'll save a lot of frustration

Decent City Course 2+ years

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Sep 15, 2013 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

This is a decent 18 hole course running through a city park.

All baskets were in good condition. There are two concrete teepads for each hole (labeled Rec and Advanced). From the Rec pads most holes are in the 200' - 400' range, while the Advanced pads offer 8 holes over 400' with a max of 555'.

I played most recently on 9/1/2017 and found new tee signs at both pin positions on every hole. The "pro" sign posts have a blue cap and the "rec" sign posts have a red cap making it easy to tell from a distance where to go. The signs have a nice hole diagram along with all of the expected par and distance information. Great improvement.

Though the course is relatively flat, there is a good mix of long and short holes, and good use of the available trees, mounds and drainage swales in the park.

There are dozens of newly planted trees, and as they grow and mature the challenge of several holes will increase significantly.

Good sized parking area with a kiosk. A large detailed map is posted in the kiosk.

There were a couple of restrooms available on the course.

Cons:

The Pro teepads are the older, smaller pads, while the Rec teepads a big new trapazoidal pads. Would be nice to have bigger pads on the long tees.

Navigation can be tricky in spots.
A few of the tee signs are from an older layout and have previous (incorrect) hole numbers on them. Many of the baskets have no number, which adds to the confusion. I understand that these are issues only for the first-time user, but they could be easily resolved.

Other Thoughts:

The new tee signs clear up most of my cons from a previous review. The infrastructure is now solid.

The course is mostly flat and open, so not the most challenging. But they've done a great job with what they had to work with.

Great course for practicing your rollers!

Pros:

Int. Player: Course was challenging but forgiving. What the course didn't have in hazards it made up for in OB's. Has potential to be a really nice course.

Cons:

Holes 18, 1, 2. 3. & 4 need some work (pretty rough). Some water in the creek will help too.

Other Thoughts:

Keep up the work and I'm sure next year the course will be outsanding. Really enjoyed the recent tourney. Thanks

Pros:

This course is very wide open and in a very nice park and neighborhood. It is well maintained and makes very good use of the local terrain. Very good for beginners and even the most seasoned will find a few challenging shots. The two new holes that have been added are also very nice. Course is well marked and tee pads are concrete. Baskets are also in great condition. No guide needed.

Cons:

Not much in the way of obstacles, unless you can't throw the disc straight (that's happened to me a couple of times). There are no public restrooms, even a porto-john would be nice.

Other Thoughts:

The bird that divebombs people seems to have moved on, unless I have just been really fortunate. Ran into a gentleman who said they would be adding 7 new holes across the street from holes 6&7 (the original ones) in another part of the park. Those should be in by the end of the year. All in all a nice little course.

Short and sweet 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 17, 2009 Played the course:once

Pros:

The tees and holes are very well marked and laid out. For the most part holes are wide open with little technical challenge. The course is located in a nice, well-manicured park (except for holes 1-4 which are undeveloped as mentioned in a previous review). Holes 5-9 are very nice, weaving through the rest of the park. Hole 7 or 8 ( I can't remember which) is parked on top of a hill which provides a fun challenge.

Cons:

Parking is kind of hard to find. I suggest using the Church located next to the Enchanted Lands park. Holes 1-4 are undeveloped, and at the time hole 1 was full of very tall (2') grass.

Other Thoughts:

I was stopping through Roswell overnight, so not being a native that could have been part of my parking issue. However overall I would say this is a very good course, great for beginners and relaxing for veterans. Hopefully your drives will be the only "flying discs" you'll encounter.
