Pretty Lame 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 19, 2013 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

-Hole 2 is pretty cool. You start about 50 feet away from a wooded tunnel that leads to the pin on a sharp turn to the left, about another 200 feet away. Its always fun to play holes with some shape to them instead of just - ahem - straight forward ones.
-The tees are nice and big.

Cons:

-Holes are all really short and repetitive. If you are going to have short holes, at least make them technical. It feels like every hole is just a straight ahead shot through some minor trees, or into some pocket of bushes. I think 15 and 17 are the only holes where you can air it out (still kind of a stretch) and both are directly next to a busy road.
-The signs are terrible. Its literally just written in sharpie. And they don't help at all besides letting you know what hole you are at. For all the roads and paths you have to cross/backtrack across, you'd figure there would be something better set up.
-There are a lot of areas under trees and near bushes that always get muddy when it rains. I went in May and there was about 4 inches of standing water in about a 20 foot radius around the pin on hole 18.
-A few of the pins are right on the edges of either large bodies of water or steep drop offs. You can't tell that they are there unless you have played there before or if you walk to the pin first. And, I know, I know, "It adds to the challenge." No, no it doesn't. Not here at least. There are a lot of courses that make good use of OB areas and it just seems unnecessary here.
-Like noted above, the whole course is pretty much directly next to a relatively busy road. Not only that, but there is a busy path that goes right through it. I've nearly got hit from bikers not saying anything coming up behind.
-Its usually pretty busy.

Other Thoughts:

In all honesty, the course plays like someone took one of there portable practice pins and set it up at the park during a picnic. It just doesn't feel like a legit course. If you are visiting from a different area, SKIP THIS COURSE. Go play Brown Deer and Dretzka.
