Pros:
-- Tee signs for all holes.
-- Practice basket.
-- Baskets are numbered, but in a way that you can't see the number until you are a few feet away.
-- Water in play on several holes (two baskets close to water and one short water carry).
Slight elevation on several holes (good for Texas)
-- Several large trees.
-- Navigation.
-- Starts and ends at the front of the parking lot.
-- Beautiful park with restrooms, a playground, fenced dog park, picnic tables and a pavilion.
Cons:
-- Tee pads are not good. Crushed granite (or just pebbles) that is not bordered in any way, so there is really no defined tee box.
-- Flow is terrible. In a couple of instances, two fairways are basically parallel. Instead of the tees and baskets being on the opposite end of the space, they are on the same end, meaning after you finish the first one, you have to walk the length of the hole to get to the next tee. The worst example is 8/9. After putting on 8, you have two options to reach the No. 9 tee: Walk up the No. 8 fairway or walk up the No. 9 fairway. Also, a couple of tee pads are too close to the previous basket, creating some safety concerns.
Other Thoughts:
-- A local player told us about a second nine so that you played each basket twice. After you finish No. 9, you cross the creek/ditch and tee to the No. 8 basket. Then you basically play the baskets in reverse order and finish with No. 9. Those "tees" are marked by orange spray paint but are not easy to find. He said they are on the map on UDisc.
-- On a beautiful Saturday afternoon, the park was very crowded. Many of the folks seemed oblivious to the sport even though there are signs warning of the dangers of flying discs. A family was basically camped around the practice basket.
