Pros:

Grand Targhee is potentially the best mountain course in the region. It has some of the best views ive seen from a disc golf course. It has a great combination of holes from short technical to a few long downhills over looking the valley. Some great resting spots along the way and places to get some shade. Being my home course i play here frequently for the short season of about 4 or 5 months and enjoy it every time i play. Having the Trap Bar is an added bonus (open Fri. - Sun.) or the Branding Iron restaurant to relax between rounds. Its awesome when the fairways get mowed making it easy to navigate.

Cons:

The course has been changing in the last 3 years do to new mountain bike trails. Getting ride of 8 of the original holes witch seemed to flow better and was designed by some of the best in the area. Some of the new holes could be more creative and the hike is alittle bigger than it used to be. The tee boxes are ok but could be flatter. The signs on each hole are good to know where your at but the maps on them are basically useless. The grass and wildflowers get tall and vey easy to loose discs.

Other Thoughts:

Grand Targhee is a phenomenal course definitely worth a play. The addition of the amenities from the resort are great including a pro shop, Bars and restaurant, scenic chairlift rides to an amazing view of the tetons. The people that take care of the course are awesome and love new ideas and maintaing this beautiful course. They offer 2 music festivals every year (Targhee Fest and Blugrass Fest) making it the ultimate disc golf destination if your a music lover. If you get the chance play this course and see the area!
