- Land is really good for disc golf. You've got a 20-25 foot wide creek that is in play a lot – both throwing over and having baskets placed near the water -- and you've got several holes with more than 40 feet in elevation changes. There aren't a lot of trees, but they are well used.
- Best holes:
2: 276 feet RH or LH open until the final 30 feet, where you have guardian trees and ground that slopes to the creek 20 feet behind the basket.
4: 210 feet RHBH hyzer over the creek to a protected basket.
6 318 feet RHBH hyzer hugging the creek left but wide open right.
8: 204 feet straight, but you likely cross the creek twice, and the basket is 10 feet right of the creek.
9: 420 feet straight but the direct line to the basket crosses the creek four times. In several spots, you have trees that guard both edges of the creek. The basket sits 25 feet right of the creek.
11: 306 feet across the widest part of the creek with trees on the other side of the creek and ground that slopes down to the water.
13: 338 feet downhill 40-50 feet from the sidewalk; fairway is mostly open. The creek is 18 feet right/back of the basket, and you've got a big tree 12 feet short/left of the basket.
14: 255 feet; it's flat for the first 200 feet and mostly open before a 45-degree incline with some trees for the final 50 feet. I've seen putts roll 75-100 feet away.
15: Similar to 13 but shorter and tighter because of trees.
16: 307 feet with the creek hugging the right edge of the fairway; the left side is open. At the basket, the creek is 20 feet right, and the sidewalk is 25 feet left.
- Tee signs are old but informative. They have hole number, distance and a map. The have a next tee indicator. Oddly, they do not list the par.
- Veteran baskets, blue banded. I prefer Innova, but these are just fine.
- Two practice baskets.
- 5x12 concrete tee pads.
- Water. There is a fountain along the walking path by the 14 basket. I think there are others, but I used this one.

- No restroom.
- No map on site.
- Walking path circles the park and comes into play on several holes.
- Long walks: 3-4, 17-18.
- Twice (6-7, 17-18) you walk along a busy road to cross the creek.
- The walk 2-3 could be dangerous. The direct path takes you in front of the 11 tee, which is hidden behind a tree. I can see someone walking to No. 3 getting hit by a drive on 11.
- No tee sign or tee pad for 7. Just tee from the top of the hill and the end of the bridge.
- Tee sign for 6 is not in the ground; it's leaning against a tree 20 feet away.
- No. 2 tee pad is badly cracked, and a few others are showing signs of wear.

- Alternate pin position for many/most holes, although they are not reflected on the tee signs.
- Creek is mostly shallow. The improved part (holes 1-2, 11-18) with brick walls is much steeper and harder to get into; the other parts are natural and give you easier access.

4. Cart friendly, side walks available to most holes.

1. It is windy at all times, there are very few trees and the course rests in a low lying area that is a watershed are. This also causes the course to stay wet and muddy for sometime after it rains.
2. There is little shade, which sucks during the summer. Bring a cart/cooler, you will want cold water or adult beverage during your round.
3. Bring a retriever of some kind. Only hole 14 has the water completely out of play, you will likely end up needing to retrieve a disc.

This course has vastly improved since I started play at it 5 years ago. The course is certainly worth playing and if you want to drive in to the Carrollton, pair this up with Jimmy Porter, which is about 3 miles down the road that this course is on.

Nice average course that is not too crowded. It's a good place to play but not great

Greenbelt has a big parking lot with plenty of space. There is a nice course map at the parking lot which helps for navigation purposes. There are tee signs for every hole which also helps navigation. They show the distance, provide a map of the hole and an arrow pointing where the next tee is. The course designer made good use of the land. The creek comes into play on most holes and many of the baskets make use of the limited trees throughout the course to add to the difficulty. Holes 12 - 15 make good use of the elevation. You throw up the hill then down and repeat the process again. The course involves a few bridges that you have to cross that are solid and sturdy.

After the redesign some of the numbers on the basket are not matching to the actual hole number. A few of the dirty teepads were uneven and I image they can get muddy after a rain. There was a "rock" bridge when crossing to hole 7. I image if the creek is high that you would not be able to cross the creek. The creek can be a disc eater if you aren't careful. It is not deep so if you have a golden retriever you should be able to get your disc pretty easily. Unfortunately, I did not have one so I left my blue Champion Mamba on 16. The only other thing i did not really like was walking from 17's basket to 18's teepad. You have to walk on the bridge right by Josey Ln. which is a pretty busy street.

Greenbelt is a really fun course and the designers made great use of the land that they were provided with. Navigation is easy and the creek and wind from the openness add a challenge to the course. This is not a staple course in the DFW area but definitely one everyone should try and go play.

-right by jimmy porter disc golf park, so it's great for back-to-back rounds

-most teepads are uneven piles of dirt which turn into mud when wet. As an added "bonus," several also have large rocks embedded in them as well, which makes a run-up or even a walk-up difficult to impossible. Seriously... can we just get concrete teepads already???
- There is a winding creek that comes into play on most holes. I actually think that this is a positive in some aspects, but I'm putting it under cons because it can eat discs and I find the number of insects it brings to be annoying. As a side note, the city put up a sign about west Nile virus right upfront in the park due to the extreme amount of insects. That's not good.....
-there are no restrooms or water fountains anywhere
-the baskets are really starting to show their wear. Several are missing chains, have broken chains, etc. They need to be updated.
-some holes may be too open for advanced players, but the creek, elevation changes, tree placement, and sometimes wind drafts can keep you on your toes.
-most of the course is easy to navigate, but there are a couple of spots that could confuse a first-timer.
Hole 3 plays to the left of the pavilion past hole 2. The Hole 7 teepad is actually under the overpass, so you will have to cross the creek after the hole 6 basket. Hole 18 also requires that you cross the creek to the right of the hole 17 basket (hole 18 leads you back to the parking lot). All this brings me to my last con: you will need to be careful crossing the creek. It is slippery, and when the water is high it can be downright dangerous.

This course could certainly use some updating, but it is still very fun and it should be in your DG rotation if you live within 20 or so minutes of it.
With jimmy porter just a few minutes away, it makes for a great double-header of courses as well.

-The signs are nice.

-Some interesting shots (like the one from under the street) keep the round lively.

-Since DFW doesn't have much elevation, this place relatively speaking has quite a bit.

-Well maintained and mowed!

-Has some longer distance holes which is always fun!

-The course runs along a creek which is in play on every hole. Bring a retriever or your A-game.

-Needs more trash cans.

-Took me a while to find 7's tee.

-Lots of non-DGers out here.

could be layed out a little better I think. 7s Tee is nearly impossible to find if you didnt know the course.

Interesting little creek running through the middle of the course adds some fun to it

- High risk/reward on most holes
- Made some of the easier holes more challenging than the old layout

- The creek is wide and murky and in play on nearly ever hole
- Hole 5 is much shorter in this layout, no longer bomb-able
- Hole 7's teepad is apparently in the street, according to the map [Update: the teepad is apparently under the bridge]
- Muddy around the back half
- No teepads on most holes

- There's a good chance you might lose some discs if you do not bring a pole (golf ball retriever) with a hook on the end. If you do bring one, the creek isn't quite so bad
