I've only played Idlewild about ten times over the past year, but this basket has always been in the long position, 350' uphill, just on the other side of the cluster of trees on the far side of the walking path. You can't see it from the tee. Also, just this week, a large branch came down from the tree that guards the 'mouth' of the tee, opening it up a little (but it's still a heave out there!)

From the long tee, you'll need a big anny drive (rhbh) in the neighborhood of 420' to even start into the grove of trees 100'+ out from the basket. I've seen it done, but I've seen more open players go for that distance utilizing a roller that runs along the hillside to get in close.

You might be better off hitting the retaining wall and putting from there on this hole. If you try to land your shot on level with the hole, it can easily skip into the woods.

It's best to stay left off the tee. If you miss right you're pretty much off the fairway and you'll find yourself with a tough second shot. This is probably the toughest par 5 on the course.

The fairway is huge and, as the previous tip alluded to, you do not want to get off the fairway. You will most likely spend a lot of time searching for your disc...and you might not leave the course w/ it in your bag.

During the Spring and Summer this hole is lined with yellow flowers that stand about 4 to 5 feet tall.

The Y Gap is mandatory for most tournaments so get use to throwing through it now
