Really fun course in the land of many 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 4, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

hole 1 is very tight n long , there is a variety of cool fairways that actually stood out to me wile playing all the areas best courses including a blind open fairway that leads to a pond on the left over the hill. 16 has a really neat elevation change involving a odd hill shape you just have to see.

Cons:

saw a bit of vandalism ,lots of casual players in this area not all of them get it

Other Thoughts:

one of the courses i really loved in the area and there are no shortage of Disc golf courses in the Detroit burbs

X1-X12 - Great Addition 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Feb 12, 2017 Played the course:once

Pros:

A great mix of short technical holes and longer open field holes. Total distance of 3203 ft. First 6 holes winding through the woods are all under 300 ft, next 6 holes start with a big 460 ft hole sweeping left to right with the basket over wetlands.

Great use of natural terrain with challenges for both novice and pro. Water only comes into play on two holes and there's enough elevation changes to make it interesting. Several well constructed foot bridges over wetlands aid travel between holes.

Holes are fair and not to difficult in winter but will become more challenging as foliage grows. Opportunities exist for birdies on all holes.

Nice "temporary" signs with good depiction of hole and distance. Navigation between holes is fairly clear.

Great aesthetics!

Cons:

Starts after hole 2 and does not provide for play as a separate 18 holes. No return by parking lot between the two 18 holes courses.

The 12 extra holes overall are fairly short with 2 holes under 200 ft and only 4 over 300 ft. Does not appear to be room to extend distance or add second longer Ts.

Course offers minimal challenges for experienced players.

Natural tee pads are ok but concrete pads will be needed if this will be a permanent addition.

Other Thoughts:

The extra holes (X1 - X12) are well designed with good use of land/wetlands. A pleasurable challenging mix.

Starts just beyond hole 2 of the original course and heads throughs woods and wetlands ending at the 3rd tee of original course. I'm not sure what the intent is but it would be nice to have two separate 18 hole courses without changing the original Chuck D Memorial course and include a return to parking lot between course. Currently plays as a 36 hole course.

Overall rating is based only on the extra 12 holes. The 18 hole course including X1-X12 and holes A-F would warrant a good (3.0) rating.
