Good beginner course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 11, 2014 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Short range shots geared for us beginners and those working on control. Easy layout (no pads-PVC end caps in ground) and plenty of room to change tee positions if you want. Nice tee's.

Cons:

Holly SATURATION!!! I bet the course is normally very dry because the grounds look great, BUT they have had a lot of rain lately and this course doesn't drain or absorb!!! Make sure the weather has been dry before going or bring some old boots.

Other Thoughts:

1) Tons of room to make your own course layout.

Good Beginner Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Apr 21, 2009 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

1) Very nice land despite being next to soccer fields and a pool. 2 holes have nice elevation.
2) Good mix of short and intermediate distance
3) Beginners will like the course
4) Close to town (Jacksonville)

Cons:

1) The tee markers are those in-the-ground-caps. Makes cutting the park grass easier.
2) Not a challenging professional quality course. This is the not the intent of this course however.
3) 9 holes.

Other Thoughts:

The PARD director tells me they have budgeted for a professional 18 hole course 3 miles away. I pre-scouted the land (I have relatives there and visit often). The park had some good land...seems like it will mostly be a woods course.
