Plays tough in the middle for sure 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 2, 2013 Played the course:once

Pros:

There is a good mix of long and short holes. Water threat to keep you on your toes and add to the challenge of your round. There is a practice basket by the entrance to the park. There are other amenities in the park.
Here are my hole observations:
1-lengthy shot that plays slightly dog leg left and slightly uphill
2-another long shot plays slightly downhill with a creek on the right hand side
3-plays dog leg to the right with a creek on the right hand side
4-has a walking path on the left hand side and the creek on your right, plays L to R
5-throws across the pond with the basket on a hill/island
6-throws over the creek/pond then there is a landing area. Upon approach from the landing area there is a little marsh on the right side by the basket. Basket sits on a berm.
7-long wide open hole with the walking path on the right side and the creek/pond on the left. Land slopes towards the creek with the basket out in the open
8-plays in the middle of the park has the most trees to navigate around
9-longest hole on the course, has a couple of walking paths that come into play on this hole so be advised

Cons:

No distance on the signs for #1 & #8.
#2's tee marker is missing.
Back tracking from 4's basket to 5's tee box and the walk from 7's basket to 8's tee slows the flow down a bit. The rough that is next to the creek is very thick and you could very easily lose a disc in there.

Other Thoughts:

This is a pretty challenging 9 hole course that has both length and water threat. The middle of the course, holes 5-7, can be brutal if the water levels are high. If you look at the pics in the media section you will see what I mean, however upon my visit the creek/pond was very low. This isn't a beginner friendly course as there is too much threat of losing a disc to the pond or in the tall weeds. Packing a floating disc or a throw away disc might not be a bad idea especially if this park has had a decent amount of rainfall.
Now with that said it is still a fun play. I enjoyed the challenge that this course provided. There was the risk reward factor in the interior holes and a decent mix on the perimiter holes to keep it nice and balanced. The only thing that kept me from giving this course a 3 rating was the fact of the missing signage on 3 holes here. It would help if the signage was replaced to let those out of towners know how long the holes are and how they play. If you are in the area and are up for a challenging round then hit this course up.

The little engine that could 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 3, 2009 Played the course:once

Pros:

This is a decent 9 holer. There are nine good baskets and some very unique holes that make you want to come back for more. Hole 5 is a very cool peninsula hole on a mound that is a great risk vs reward hole. The pads almost seem like they were poured backwards but at least they are concrete. Easy to follow even for first timers. The park was well manicured and very clean with lots of trash cans. There are 4x4 poles taht mark all of the tees and some have actual signs. The little elevation that is here is used which is cool. Being so long, you can throw just about any kind of shot and get away with it....as long as your not in the pond. This course will make you a better golfer for sure.

Cons:

VERY long for a 9 hole course. It almost seems like they could have put a short 18 hole course here but decided to make it 9. The rough is rough. If you yank a disc and you find yourself next to the creek you might need a new disc because that stuff is tall. The pond is nasty and makes the last couple of holes smell like sewer. The pads are a little short for how long the course is. Watch out for walkers and bikers......they are EVERYWHERE!!

Other Thoughts:

This was an ok course but after playing alot of other Tulsa courses this weekend I would rather go the extra couple of miles and play on the city but if you live near or just passing through, its worth the stop. Have fun and enjoy

Walk in the Park 2+ years

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Nov 20, 2008 Played the course:once

Pros:

Great use of terrain on first few holes when creek is mildy present, the tricky water peninsula hole was decent and the shot next to where water could be more involved during rainy weeks would make the round more interesting, the whole course isn't totally engulfed with water there are some nice chances to really let one fly.

Cons:

Signs are missing but the posts are there except hole one. You'll hafta look for the tees but its not terribly difficult, had a good time playing here was kind of surprised.

Other Thoughts:

If your disc doesn't go in the water you may hit a jogger instead.
