Don't pre judge 9 holes ! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Dec 10, 2016 Played the course:once

Pros:

Nice course in a public park setting.
Course is not in the way of joggers, walkers.
Now easy to find off main road.
Plenty of variety: short, long, trees, water
Nice grounds, nice concrete t-pads, nice baskets.

Cons:

Train gave me a heat attack when she blew, glad my buddy knew CPR.
Several parking spots, drive around and look for hole #1
Basket on hole four was tucked away, make sure you know where it is when you throw.

Other Thoughts:

Went here on a whim going through town for business. End of day, so we gave it a try. Glad we did, it's a hidden gem (some small town have nice 9 hole courses) tucked away, you gotta look for it. Anytime I see 9 hole courses I check them out, I have found some really cool places tucked away.

Great course with many obstacles. If your a beginner, lay up and save your discs, if your experienced you can really show off your skills at this course.

Nice grounds. Walking trail did not seem like an issue. Nice old school downtown, you could just imagine gunfights in the early western days.

There were some random concrete pads in the park, you could always use them to play holes differently. I think they once were picnic table pads, but you could use them for some options if the park was not busy.

Play a round once (9) or twice (18) I will be back to this one again for sure.

Meanest nine holer I've ever played 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Nov 4, 2009 Played the course:once

Pros:

Well designed. Even though its only nine holes, this is probably one of the most challenging courses in the Tulsa area. Pro/advanced caliber players will love this. Mostly open fairways, but you just cant bomb away, due to nasty trees to the right of the first four holes, formidable water hazards on 5-7, and often trees restricting your aim off most of the pads. Several blind pins from the tee box. Inaccuracy is punished severely.

Cons:

Rec players, please, unless you're in a masochistic mood, stay home (or hit Chandler or Riverside nearby). This is a great place to lose your plastic. The water shots are neat, and they do leave a weenie route around the water, but not much of one, and that area on those holes is occupied by a walking path. Hole 8 is really the only hole without other park activity in the way.

Other Thoughts:

If challenge were the only consideration, I could raise Kelly Lane a whole star. I had to wait for pedestrians on a few occasions on a weekday in November. I can only imagine what this course gets on a weekend during the summer, or how it plays when that notorious Oklahoma wind is howling. A second (hopefully shorter) set of tee boxes would be helpful in making the course more rec friendly.
