- 6 well mounted DisCatchers. 5 were older models and 1 was a shiny new 28 chain.
- Good hole lengths for a neighborhood rec course. Distances range from 87' to 260'.
- The available elevation was used.
- Beautiful mountain and river views. The course plays along the side of the Eagle River.
- Free to play.

- Where to start, where to start...how about no map, no tee signs, and no next hole signs. We used the UDisc map and based on the tees that didn't use the walking path, this place sees minimal action.
- Speaking of that path, hello, danger! The course plays along, next to, and directly at the walking path. From at least a couple tee shots, the path is blind.
- The course plays through unmaintained natural landscape of pokey overgrowth. Not bad enough to lose discs but certainly less than pleasant.
- Almost no trees to speak of. If you yanked a drive off the side of holes 1 or 6 you could find some though.
- Long walks on a one-way course. Couple-few hundred yards between holes 1 and 2. Holes 3-6 just take you further away. Even when holes 7-9 were in, you'd just get even further away. That said, they never should have been in. We walked the remaining layout, 7 pin used to be 10' from the back patio of an apartment while both 8 and 9 played over the resident's parking area and the nearby road. Whoever put this bad boy in was clueless.

This is one of the worst courses I've taken the time to play, like bottom 10. That said, based off the available beta prior to our round, we knew we were in for a treat if a terrible course. Nothing on DGCR sounded even remotely favorable and the most recent UDisc update read as follows:

"super booby cheeks one of the holes got ran over and there's only 4 holes lol and there's no tees or anything that says disc golf"

To be fair, there were 6 holes. But sure enough, the "ran over" basket was just sitting in the scrubby field, I mean to the side of hole 4. This is why hole 2 has such a nice shiny new target! The fact that somebody cared enough to replace it is mind boggling.

Absolutely no reason to stop here unless you're a silly course bagger(raises hand). If that's the case it's not too bad for low hanging fruit being so close to the highway. Grab a couple discs, watch out for pedestrians, play the six holes, and make the walk of shame back your car with a smile on your face because you were throwing frisbees and not working.

Easily accessible, right off of Interstate 70. Located in a very beautiful part of the Colorado high country.

Sandwiched between the Eagle river and a populous apartment complex. Holes 5-9 are all mashed into a small open space and have no real layout. Entire course runs along a busy pedestrian path so you are constantly waiting for people to pass at busy times of day. There is also a busy kids playground area that you tee off towards on hole 3. Baskets are close to the apartments and people's "yards" so you risk hitting buildings and/or throwing from private property. Undergrowth on fairways is low but surprisingly dense so even those with extra watchful eyes spend way too much time searching for discs.

Nothing about the actual playing portion of this course makes it worth visiting. Since it is only a few miles from my home, I use it to practice my short game (mid-range and putting) but will never go there to seriously play it. The first and only time I did I ran into some high school kids who were throwing around and asked them about the course layout. They said they would play 1-4 normally and then basically make it up as they go for 5-9 since there was no real layout. The constant non-disc golf traffic through the area combined with the disc swallowing grass left me spending way too much time waiting and searching than I should have.

Long story short, if you're traveling along I-70 and see this course pop up on DGCR, don't bother. Frisco, Vail, Beaver Creek and CMC Glenwood Springs are all much better, 18 hole choices. If you want a short 9 holer on the river head down to New Castle but don't waste your time at Lake Creek. (Update: Fire Mountain DGC in New Castle has expanded to 18 holes, which means the closest 9 hole course is Bert & Ernie down in Carbondale.)
