Multi-Use Park Course Is Crowded and Frustrating

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 10, 2022 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Baskets are in good shape for their age. Old-growth trees offer shade and habitat for hawks. Open areas in the park offer good opportunities for fieldwork.

Cons:

Short tee pads with signs located poorly at the front of pads so you might smash your hand. Too crowded with park users. Fairways planted with saplings that offer very, very low ceilings on many holes. Trash. Often, standing water makes the course a muddy mess that's not worth the trouble.

Other Thoughts:

This poorly designed 12-hole course probably needs to be removed or redesigned. Family picnics at reserved shelters, elderly yoga classes, elementary classes wandering about--all mean you may need to skip a hole or two. Early mornings and off hours are the best time to play. Confusingly, several areas with old-growth trees remain fairly empty while fairways share busy public areas.

Poorly Designed 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Oct 28, 2013 Played the course:once

Pros:

New discatcher baskets. Interesting lines but half of the holes don't have realistic fairways.

Cons:

Holes are too close to playgrounds, shelters, and other tees. Only takes one errant shot on a crowded day of picnicker's for a lawsuit to happen and give the local disc golf scene a bad name.
Not really playable/safe on nice weekends due to picnickers.
Course can be swampy at times.
Concrete pads installed but about 5ft. too short and too close to signage in risk of smashing your hand on follow thru.

Other Thoughts:

Course should be downsized to 9 holes and totally redesigned due to safety purposes.
