Nice pitch n putt course 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Feb 15, 2017 Played the course:once

Pros:

Great course to play a quick round and work on your upshot game.
Course is pretty easy to follow if you pay attention

Cons:

Tee's are marked with a wood plank laying at ground level, some of them you have to almost walk over to find them.

Other Thoughts:

Don't come play here expecting a challenging course. This is a fun little pitch and putt course that would be GREAT to bring first time Disc Golfers out to play.

Or just to play a quick round to work on your upshots.

Play here a lot, your going to rack up the aces.

Great Little Short 9 Hole Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 23, 2016 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Shorter holes are reachable by newer players. Course is centrally located, in downtown Nacogdoches. Most holes have at least one technical element or obstacle, making this a fun course to play. Birdies are there, but not a given.

Cons:

Course is pretty short. Not much chance to throw long drives. Course plays along a pedestrian path and playground so safety can be a concern. No course map or signs but it's not too hard to navigate if you check it out here first.

Other Thoughts:

Great course for beginners! This is really a fun course to play. Tee boxes are marked with buried 4x4 posts with the hole number painted on.

Great Little Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Oct 16, 2015 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Good short course to play if you want a quick and fun 9 holes. This would be a great place to master approach shots and shaping shots, that's why I'll come back. I played on a weekday morning and I only saw 2-3 people in the park, very peaceful along a creek.

Cons:

There are no upright markers near the tees, the tee box is flat and can be tricky to spot. The numbers on the basket point back to the tee.

Other Thoughts:

I found all the boxes, I wasn't in a hurry and had just come from Pioneer Park to wind down. I find it fun to explore new courses, at least this one is short and not too long a walk to look for errant teeboxes. I had a pleasant experience and will come back. My young son's favorite course.
Update June 2016: They are playing glow golf minis on Thursday nights @ 7:30. Perfect course for this, bring the kids, big fun!

Great Beginner Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 12, 2013 Played the course:once

Pros:

The park is very well maintained, clean if you don't count the creek, and situated well bewteen Pecan and Pioneer for a quick 9 hole stop. Baskets all marked with numbers, all but hole 9 face the tee box, so this helps in finding the boxes. Good variety of shots.

Cons:

Could really benefit from some signs, navigation got a little confusing in a couple places. The Tees are all dirt with a wooden marker on the ground with "T Box X" on them. A nice touch, but tough to see from a distance. Course stays close to the walking trail in places, and crosses itself at one point.

Other Thoughts:

This course is exactly what a beginner course should be. It's got shorter holes, with a wide variety of shots. I wish I'd learned at a course like this, where you need a strong forehand on several holes. The designers made the best use of the trees here, avoided the playground, and used the creek to increase the difficulty on what is a very simple little park. For experienced players this is a great place to take a midrange and play only that disc.
