Really nice park, but the course needs maintenance. 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 18, 2018 Played the course:once

Pros:

-The park itself is a beautiful public space, so it's a nice place to visit even if there wasn't a disc golf course here. And there's a tank!

-Mature trees shape the fairways, so you have a few shot choices but have to be deliberate about which line you're taking or else you can definitely hit some trees.

-Accuracy is more important than distance. If you can throw a midrange straight out to 250' then you really don't need a driver.

-There are multiple tees on some of the holes. Sometimes it's just that the second tee is set fifty feet further back, but on a couple holes the second tee is in a completely different place so that it's like a new hole.

-The first three holes are set up in a triangle, and I had a lot of fun just going around the triangle a bunch of times to work on my accuracy, control, and putting. You could definitely get some good focused practice done here since there's next to no walking distance between these three holes.

Cons:

-No tee pads. All you get are red signs that tell you where to throw from.

-Pretty easy course. A few holes do ask for a decently accurate drive to get a birdie, but it's hard to imagine an experienced player getting bogeys on this course.

-Course layout is a mess. The first three holes are laid out in a triangle, and then you have to walk behind hole 9's basket to find hole 4. Then hole 5 is on the complete opposite end of the park, and you play holes 7 and 8 back towards hole 9.

-Hole 6's basket is evidently missing. This is really just an 8 hole course nowadays.

Other Thoughts:

This course is worth a look if you're passing through town anyway, but don't go out of your way to play it.
