My home course & where I got started playing 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Mar 29, 2014 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Great 9 hole course! Lots of room to shape shots on most holes, some holes are a little more technical requiring a good balance of distance and accuracy.
Some signature holes are #3(white, par 5) GPS measured it being 666 feet long with about the last 75 feet, an uphill tunnel shot.
#4(white) This is the only water hazard on the course, with a good risk/reward option. Go long and knock off a stroke or take the short way and stay dry.
#6(white par 5) With the overgrown creek on the left side, the road in the middle and a tight window before the dog-leg, this one will put you to the test. After turning the corner there's a row of low, bushy trees to contend with. Might be a roller or an overhead shot unless you can get past the tree row.
Great maintenance on the park. Grass has always been cut, hardly any trash.
Bathrooms are by the south playground equipment(not sure if locked or not)
Like most of the courses around this area, you will probably have the course to yourself.
Grass tee pads are not worn down at all.

Cons:

#8(red)goes right over the playground/park shelter parking strip. Can be difficult with a lot of vehicles parked there.
New parking area has enough room for 2-3 vehicles. I think you can park parallel on the road without problems.
Need to put a course map/score card box back on hole #1, like the old layout used to have.

Other Thoughts:

There's room for 9 more in this park. Would be nice to have an 18 but not sure when or if it'll happen, would also like to see the creek come into play a bit more. Teeing off from dirt isn't bad but would be nice to see some concrete pads for this course. I can already see a few trees that might need to be trimmed in the next 5 years or so but for now, all is well.
Mosquitoes can be very large and plentiful in the warmer months. LOTS of bug repellent.
If you launch one over the creek by accident there is a bridge back to the east of tee 6, otherwise the water isn't very deep and mostly clear. The pond however, is VERY deep and dark. God only knows whats at the bottom of that water hazard.
Out of all the 9 hole courses in the NorCenKan/SouthCenNeb area, this one is one of the best in terms of play quality/difficulty. It's a course where you have to bring controlled distance and good shot placement.
