Diamond in the Rough? FO SHO! 2+ years

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Sep 29, 2008 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

This is a gem of a course. The park is kept up very nice and there are some great holes. The longs tees are a real treat! There are lots of trees, a pond, and a creek. There is some slight elevation, but not much. Each grass tee pad has it's own sign and they do have grass. ;) Even though you could see pin on most of the holes from the tee, there are plenty of great obstacles to keep you thinking of multiple ways to play the holes. The scorecards and message board were really helpful as they have a map on them too. Navigating the course was fairly easy. The basket on #3 and blue tee on #4 are tough to find. You need to go in toward the woods just left of the pond.

Cons:

There is about a 1/4-mile walk back to #1 from #9, but it isn't too bad since the park looks so nice. I did not see a restroom or too many trashcans, but it is so clean and has camping, so they must be there somewhere. I played in late Sept. and the mosquitoes were fierce!

Other Thoughts:

The Fun Factor is huge! I really enjoyed this course and wish it wasn't one of the furthest from my hotel on this trip. They have a WWII tank in the park and it would have been cool to put a basket on it or hanging from it somewhere. ;) If this course were near my home I would play it often. This was the diamond in the rough I was hoping to see on this trip.
