Pros:

(2.722 Rating) A course that everyone wants in their neighborhood.
- FUN FACTOR - MacIntyre Park has most of the elements to allow for a fun laid back round. No overgrowth, a very low chance to lose a disc, plenty of birdie and ace run opportunities, moderately spaced throwing lanes and a little bit of elevation on a couple holes. There is however a creek in play on many holes, so throwing after a big rain will really impact the course playability and increase disc loss opportunities.
- RAW BEAUTY - Well above average. Towering old pines and a 10 foot wide creek running through the layout. At first glance, I initially would have given this course a 4 out 5 for beauty. However upon closer inspection, the creek close up is not as pristine as seen from afar. Concrete, unsightly algae and broken glass were are observed near its base. That said, the course in general still has a great look and feel.
- QUICK PLAY - I blew through this course, solo and first time, in 40 minutes. The layout flows fairly well and has its the longest walks between holes are under 200 feet. Figure a 4 sum should play in about 90 minutes.
- MAINTENANCE - Other than the base of the Creek, the course was in spectacular shape. Mowed fairways, Trimmed up trees and bushes. No branches or excess dead leaves littered about, and little trash observed outside the creek.
- CHAINS - The baskets are in great shape and with solid chains.
- CHARACTER - Several nice disc comfort items. First and foremost, adequately sized concrete tees, Also a few benches, several shaded tees, hole signage, course map, and multiple basket placements. Things that I would have liked to have seen included are; more seating, a second set of tees, a port-o-potty and a practice basket.

Cons:

Unfortunately only 12 holes.
- UNIQUENESS - The lack of a full 18 will leave you wanting more, and on top of this, the shot selection is a little light when compared to the nearby courses in Tallahassee, Valdosta and Suwannee. Most of the holes only have a spattering of trees in play and are either dead straight or twist by less than 5 degrees. Many of holes are loosely guarded and can be attacked at by multiple angles. In addition, There are no doglegs and no par 4's or 5's. Elevation is fairly limited. Only finishing hole (12) has a grade difference over 20 feet. Perhaps the courses best feature is the use of the creeks running through the layout. Be wary of going long on (3), water is lurking 15 feet past the basket.
- DIFFICULTY - I found the course to be about average in difficulty or a touch below. Other than (12) long basket, most intermediate players should be able to birdie them all after a dozen or so rounds. Advanced players should have no problem shooting under par and intermediate player should be able to join them most of the time as well. If you're a big fan of "beat me up" courses, I'll suggest heading to Jack Mclean Park in Tallahassee and playing the blue tees.
- CREEK - This course is probably an entirely different animal after a big rain. Holes (3,4,5,6,8,9,10 and 12), all have the creek in play. If the water is up, you're are going to lose some plastic. I personally put two discs between the banks on my round, but I wasn't penalized due to a low creek level.

Other Thoughts:

I'd be thrilled to have a course like this as my home course. It's perfect for the town it's in. Not blazing difficult to scare off newer players and challenging enough to keep hometown advanced players entertained. MacIntyre came in at a hair short of a 3 rating in my books, I'd give it a 2.75 rating if we were allowed to do so.
