Short but still fun! drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 31, 2020 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

- Plenty of parking spaces available.
- For how short the course is it does bring some challenge to it.
- Layout is fairly simple to follow.
- Great for short game practice.

Cons:

- Tee pads are short, not much of a run up.
- Course can get very buggy.
- Some of the middle holes can get soggy after the rain.
- Baskets are pretty aged. Still catch alright though.

Other Thoughts:

Honestly a pretty fun course. I attended the MADGO Monday night leagues here twice and had a good time! For how short and score able the course can be it still provides a decent amount of challenges.

Pros:

This course is on middle school grounds so keep in mind that it is intended for younger players learning the sport. With that being said this is a really great little course. The baskets are Discatchers that are all in really solid condition and catch great. The best thing about these is that the yellow band makes spotting these super easy. The baskets all have the hole number on them and they actually face the tee pad which is awesome, and it seems rare to be honest. There are concrete tees on every hole. They're tiny but still concrete. And for anyone reading this they're plenty big for the distances of the holes since it is a middle school course. All are level and grip good. Just really little. The tee signs here as mentioned before are great. Not by any means the best I've ever seen but better than most. Solid overview layout of each hole, distance, par for adults and youth, hole number, next tee arrow and a fun fact as an added bonus. There is a great mix of open, wooded, uphill, downhill and even an "island" type hole over the corner of the track with a drop zone. Navigation is super intuitive even without the next tee arrows on the signs. Great course for beginners but still fun for experienced golfers. Not by any means pro level but a fun place for a super casual round. The course is free and would probably never be busy.

Cons:

As mentioned above the tee pads are really small. Like really, REALLY small. With that being said you really don't need any kind of run up if at all for even intermediate players like myself. As a matter of fact standstill putter shots are going to be your tee shots. This is not so much a pitch and putt for a lot of holes but rather a putt course. The course is on school grounds so it's not playable during school hours and no tobacco or alcohol obviously.

Other Thoughts:

This course is definitely nothing to go out of your way to play but if you're in the area you can (and I personally have) done a lot worth than this. It really is a great little course. As far as middle school courses this is near the top. It would've seemed way better if I hadn't played Kenwood Trails in MN the day before lol. But this is a really well designed fun course that has replay value to most golfers. I'd be ecstatic if something like this was near me. I'd recommend at least playing once for sure.
