As per his usual, the previous reviewer, Mr. JR Stengele perfectly described the course and it's surroundings. I was fortunate enough to be hosted by the two course designers, Justin and Ryan. It is indeed a entry/beginner level course but with that being said, it's a fun little throw. Although designed with elementary/middle school aged students in mind, the course offers enough challenge for most intermediate players. There is a little elevation to play with. The course features both open holes and wooded technical ones. The signs are pretty basic but Justin and Ryan are planning on adding the distance to them. The poles have a marked area on them in which you have to hit in order to "sink your putt". This prevents players from always putting at the bottom of the pole. Having this course here and with the future opening of the beast course at Shelton Springs (just minutes away from MCCS) does indeed give Shelton three courses of varying difficulty.

I'm sorry but poles just don't compare to baskets. Going back to playing a pole hole course after years of playing basket courses is like trading the Porsche you've been driving for ten years in on a used mini-van. The teepads are currently natural and the wooded areas of the course could use some thinning and clearing away of a lot of down logs. They make getting off the fairway a real adventure. The students would enjoy and therefore utlize this course much more if the wooded areas were more forgiving.

My favorite thing about this course is the fact that it fits the target group that the course was designed for. Ryan and Justin didn't try to make a course for everyone, they built it with the students in mind.

Please respect the few simple rules they have requested. No play while school is in session and NO alcohol, drugs, smoking, sex, dancing, cursing, littering, texting, dogs, camping, urinating on or defacing school property. In other words, try to act like human beings and be good sewards for our sport.
