Beautiful View + Enjoyable Round = Solid Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 21, 2013 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

** The Views and smell of the ocean from just about every hole!
* Great for working on short/technical game
* Very enjoyable casual rounds!
* Great mix of hyzer - anhyzer shots
* One of the chillest coastal towns - great all around atmosphere!
* Never crowded

Cons:

* Tee Signs are hard to locate
* Fairly simple holes - not very technical (not sure if this would be considered a con)
* Holes overlap one another - if it was crowded I could see some waiting time
* Can get very windy - but just like any other course.. the elements will always be there!

Other Thoughts:

Mendocino High is one lucky school to be able to incorporate an 18 Hole Course on school grounds! I tend to be an optimist when it comes to rating courses; I take the technicality of the course & the views and enjoyability of the course to heart when rating. The views here are second to none, the course could use some work but overall is very enjoyable and has a nice flow! Just take a look at the map near Hole 1 and you'll be fine! It would be amazing if they could expand the course into the Mendocino Headlands to the left of Hole's 1-3!

Just go for the view 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 13, 2011 Played the course:once

Pros:

The view is unreal! It's cool to see a high school let the land be used for a disc golf course, so it was cool to play around the football and baseball fields.

Cons:

The course needs a little love, tee signs, basket paint, tee pad maintenance (or pavement laid).

Other Thoughts:

It's a rough course from abuse, but the location is just to cool to ignore.

Help us keep the course... 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Jun 8, 2009 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Great place to learn windy play. Fun holes. A mando of through the football uprights on 18. Great views of the ocean to clear your mind. Creative B and C course layouts. Fun elevation and open huckin' grounds. The home of the world famous Mendocino Frolf Club.

Cons:

It is at a school. So if you like me enjoy disc golf with a beer or what ever this is not that place. We have to suck it up and keep it clean. NO SMOKING of any kind. NO BOOZE of any kind, and no throwing into groups of kids or sporting event ect... Just a few baskets are used twice and makes the lay out a bit confusing. If you can find a local it would help, but there is a map on hole 1. Tee pads leave much to be desired... but the souls of those Mendo boys and girls keep them fairly rock free and smooth, I mean soles.

Other Thoughts:

Just help us keep the course and obey the rules go have a beer on the beach or at Pattersons just down the road... whatever we have to do so the golfers on the Mendo coast have a chance to play.Thank you so much.
