Pros:

This course is my favorite type of course: Technical. Even with a distance of only 251 ft hole two requires a placement shot with little chance at a birdie, something I find very respectable. Almost all of the holes are under 500ft with just a couple exceptions and play through tight fairways. This is a very challenging course and will require a well balanced bag to score well, something I was sorely missing on the day I played (I only had a vector and ion with me). Despite being surrounded by dense woods for much of the course the fair ways are immaculate. I met the course designer in the process of clearing the fairways on some of the newer pin placements on the back nine. He told me that the pins were all five weeks old with several pins being moved to newer longer positions. Some of the old tone poles are still on the course and make a beautiful sound when hit its almost a pity they are no longer in use.
Navigating the course is made easy with wooden signs that are simple and effective. The teepads are natural however with the little traffic the course receives this can't be used as a con, however should permanent be installed it would add a greater sense of permanents to this course that after 14 years looks like it is in the final stages of completion.
Mosquitoes on the course are kept in check by the abundance of dragonflies.

Cons:

Lack of parking. The road dead ends at the course with no real area designated for parking. Hole one's teepad is not marked and can cause some confusion at the beginning of your round. While this course is absolutely beautiful its location leaves much to be desired the town of AuGres is small and far from everything. This makes a return trip for me highly unlikely. Despite the course designer working hard to clear the fairways on the newer holes they are still covered in brush and the fairways themselves can be hard to detect. This is only a partial con as they will eventually be rectified. This review is based on the course as seen on the day I played.

Other Thoughts:

This course was a wonderful surprise I had not expected to find such a well made course in such a small town. If you should find yourself in the area don't hesitate to play it. I honestly think with a little TLC this course could easily be a 4.5 or higher and that is exactly what its designer plans to do.
