Birdie or Bust 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 5, 2017 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Fun little Beginner to Am level course.
Nice flow and pretty easy to follow.
Nice adequate tees except 16 no tee pad.
2 tees on every hole except 16.( I really wouldn't call them pro and am tees).
Discatcher baskets.
Birdie and Ace run on pretty much every hole.
Ace runs are definitely here but can be punished if missed.
Several baskets set right by the tree line/woods.
Great mixture of lefty to right handed holes
Has open and wooded holes nothing overly heavily wooded.
Lines are big enough to hit.
Almost all holes have both lines.
Should be a quick round not very busy.
Bathrooms and playgrounds for the family groups.
Nice little creek running down the center of the course to add a little challenge.

Cons:

No elevation
A few tee markers are missing information.
Discatchers are still in pretty decent shape but have seen better days.
Don't expect a call on lost disc in creek. Someone was swimming and reselling disc.

Other Thoughts:

All in all a pretty fun little course for a quite round.
Hole 1 starts across bridge from bathrooms by the playground.
Driving range north of the main parking lot.
Better course in the DFW area course probably doesn't see very busy days.
Course could use a few upgrades.

Worth playing 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 22, 2014 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Well maintained course the times I have played. Most tee pads are decent sized and in good shape. Driving range awesome for warm up or practice. Water and trees for obstacles.

Cons:

Creek smells like sewage. Could use better markings on tee pad poles. No real elevation change. Several (4?) holes along a caliche road.

Other Thoughts:

Well maintained course that plays very different from blue and white teepads. Almost like two different courses except for the smelly creek and caliche road. Offers a variety of challenges in throws. Several holes around the back side gives a chance at an ace run.

Missing basket 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 21, 2013 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Fun course mostly open shots. Water is play on some of the holes, which makes more of a challenge.

Cons:

The wind will plays havoc with your discs, if not thrown correctly or using the wrong disc, you will find yourself wet.

Other Thoughts:

missing basket on #16. Wondering if the neighbors had it removed to keep the players out of their yards?

Local course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jan 20, 2013 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Fun Course. fun holes a few short ace run types. Course has decent flow. bathrooms water fountains. nice concrete pads along with driving range.

Cons:

Rocks on the back nine due to construction last year could use better signage. trash all over the creek and in the woods.

Other Thoughts:

Mesquite seems to do their best to maintain this course it is always mowed during the summer months. can also become crowded during peak season.

Good Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 18, 2009 Played the course:once

Pros:

The trees are fun on the first few holes, the course is well laid out and well maintained. The back nine is very challenging. Nice tees and baskets, and there is a driving range which is cool.

Cons:

The river will eat your discs, the course is dangerous in the wind because of this.

Other Thoughts:

We played with a large group and there were a lot of one and two groups. Which made us feel a bit rushed , but everyone was cool and helpful with directions. Good playground for the kids and nice bathrooms.

Mesquite 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 13, 2009 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Good tee signs, baskets, and pads!! Pleanty of trash cans, dont get why they chain them down though. The foot bridges that cross the little creek are very helpful as well. All in all a short course that is good for beginners and for ace runs. The disc golf driving range next to hole 7 is pretty cool. Dont see alot of places to lose plastic for the newer guys either.

Cons:

LOTS of standing water. The sewer smell on hole 10/11. Not very challenging for pro/adv players even from the longs.

Other Thoughts:

Parking seems it could get to a disaster if the park is full. Would rather hit up BB Owens or Rockwall for sure.
