- Driving range on site, with distances marked. Some sort of enclosure encroaches on the right side of it now, but I don't know what it's for.
- Concrete tee pads, decent sized. Two per hole, except 16, which has one natural tee area marked. Locals often play a long tee for 16 from the corner of the property close to houses that border the park, but it is not marked. A middle tee has been added on 1, but there is no pad there.
- Playground on site.
- Trash cans throughout.
- Distance variation is good and is helped by six holes where the long tee is more than 100 feet longer than the short tee.
- Best holes are 3, 5, 10 and 16. Three (296/351) is mostly open, but you've got the ditch to clear about 100 feet short of the basket; you've also got some trees on both sides of the fairway after the ditch, and a backstop of a bank behind the basket. Five (214/255) has the creek left and a low-hanging limb about 50 feet in front of the tee. Ten (375/457) plays up a 30-foot wide alley with thick brush on both sides. The basket sits on the right edge of the bushes, with a tree and a few bushes that stick out and block some of the path on the right. Sixteen (220) plays as a triangle island. Surrounded by gravel and paths, you throw through a moderately wooded fairway with about 190 feet needed to reach the island. Seventeen long (403) is also good. A RHBH shot clears the water quickly, but it also fades toward the water, adding some danger.

- Course flow is mostly good, but crossing the small ditch (not the creek itself) causes some issues. On both 1 and 2, you are likely walking up the fairway toward the tee you just threw from to use a bridge. There used to be a bridge 2-3, but it no longer exists.
- Tee signs are non-existent. Tees are marked by yellow metal poles. At one time, distance was listed there, but the stick-on numbers are almost completely gone now.
- No seating at tee pads.
- Holds water for a long time after a rain, especially holes 12-15.
- No elevation. I don't think any holes has as much as a 10-foot change in elevation.
- Water is underutilized. The small ditch comes into play on the first three holes (262-296 feet from the short tees), but it takes a really bad throw or a bad kick off a tree to get wet. Five (214/255) brings the bigger creek into play left because of a low hanging limb. After that, a 20-25 foot wide creek runs through the middle of a chunk of the course, but there is basically no water carry (17 from the long tees is a short carry) and no baskets placed near the water. Only a really bad shot is going to find that water.
- Gravel makes up most of the fairways for holes 8-11, so discs can get chewed up.
- No map on site.
- Seven (498/651) is a long, open, boring hole. The creek is left, but it's easy to avoid.

- Nice restroom on site, but it's part of a pavilion that can be reserved, so you might find yourself walking through someone's party to get to it.
- Some people will call this a pitch-and-putt, but the long tees give you the option of four holes longer than 400 feet.

-this course has a very cool disc golf driving range. It's great for practicing shots and measuring their distances (or just for realizing that you don't really throw 400 ft like you claim to...you know who you are). I really wish more courses had this feature
-great course flow. It's extremely easy to find each teepad and there is no fairway crossing or issues of that nature
-there are long and short tees, great teepads, quality baskets, and decent signage
-there is good variation in shots needed
-there are ace runs and birdiable holes aplenty
-you can play through pretty quickly
-there are plenty of other fun things to do close by if you are visiting the area
-there is a playground, clean bathrooms, and a good covered picnic table area
-nice mixture of light, medium, and heavily wooded areas
-there are several water hazards since a creek runs through about half of the course
-there are some nice tournaments held here and top quality disc golfers that come out to play
-there are several disc golf courses VERY close by

-there are rocks and caliche on a few of the holes (8-11) which can just wreak havoc on discs
-the winding creek and the wooded areas can lead to lost discs (there are very large snapping turtles in this creek and who knows what else lurking...)
-when it rains a lot, this course gets muddy and bad
-there are some wide open holes that present very little challenge
-although the signage is decent, it really needs more info. I like ones with distances, pictures, and directions to the next hole
-there are abundant woods around that could easily hold many more holes. I wish some more of these wooded areas were used as opposed to some of the open and/or caliche areas

This is a really fun course that plays quick. It has a lot of nice features, just make sure to bring a couple of discs you don't mind getting scraped up or lost. There are soooo many courses nearby, you could easily play different courses all day long. It is well worth going to if you live anywhere in the area. If you live within 30 minutes of this course, it should be in your regular rotation of courses to play.

I loved the driving range.. (located to the far right of #7 Tee Pad) .. was a great place to warm up. Driving range rated up to 400'.

Layout was awesome.. play over crisscrossing creeks about 3' wide for the first 3 pins. Then end up in the wooded area by pin 8 through 16.

Restroom onsite and entire area was kept mowed unless you end up in the rough lol..

Tee signage could be a lot better! I ended up throwing at wrong pin on #8 Tee.. all the white pads had missing pin direction. Had to check the Blue tee pads for pin placement before going to the white tee pads.

Would most definitely go back when in the area again.

The course was great due to the fact that it was challenging with a good mixture of long, short, technical, doglegs and hazardous holes. One of my favorite elements was the risk/reward holes. The course had a lot of space but did not feel overly long due to the natural flow of the well-manicured terrain. Tee pads were spacious and signs were helpful as well. Also i loved the driving range! Bathrooms at hole one were nice as well with covered picnic tables.

Some signs were missing and neighbors yards could be problematic due to signs telling golfers to under no circumstances retrieve discs... also some of the tee pads were not engineered to stay dry during wetter times of the year.

Which brings me to the name of this review... The area used for the park is along a river that serves as drainage for the higher surrounding areas. Multiple creeks cross the course in route to said river. When it rains this park turns into an entirely different animal. the mud is thick deep and sticky. People with walking challenges should avoid the days following rain. Normal creek crossings are not crossable and even small bridges can be washed out. The areas around the baskets that do not have grass on some holes can also be bad. And some tees on the back 9 become submerged. Did i mention the mud?

Very well maintained. Great flow from hole to hole. Concrete pads. Long and short pads at each hole. Practice lanes with distance markers

Relatively straight shots and feew elevation changes so not overly challenging. Can get crowded. Looks like it could get farily muddy, but the trails are rocky in the back nine to assist with this.

Overall a very nice course. Would happily go back.

Overall this is a great course and they take care of it very well and with the combination of short/long tees, good basket locations, and just enough trees and OB make this course challenging and fun! It is a must play if you are in the area! Below is a short description of all the holes.

1 Basket straight ahead to the left. Trees to the left and right from the tee with a small creek running from the left side towards the front of the hole.

2 Basket straight straight forward with trees guarding most lines about 3/4 down and a small OB creek running to nearly left of center.

3 Straight open shot with creek running horizontal through its 3/4 down.

4 Open shot with large creek to the left.

5 Tree hangs over right in front of the tee forcing you to throw low onto a narrow fairway, large creek to the left and to small pounds to the right during parts of the year...they dry up in the summer.

6 Short tunnel shot through some tree.

7 The longest hole by far on the course, big arm hole, straight shot, large creek to the left.

8 Straight forward, basket tucked into a pocket of trees to the left.

9 Straight forward with the basket to the left under some trees.

10 Basket straight to the right by some trees with a small ob creek behind it.

11 Short hole needing a small hyzer curve, very acable

12 Very cool hole requiring a nice S throw to get to a basket guarded by trees.

16 This is a real fun hole, shoot up a small hill with a bunch of trees blocking most long lines towards a basket the is in the open on the other side of the trees. If you happen to throw in grandmas backyard just knock, nice people. *UPDATE* this basket has been removed, play from tee pad as normal to hole 7's basket just be courteous to people playing hole 7.

17 & 18 are both straight open no tree big arm holes (if from longs) with a big creek to the left of both.

Can play from basket 18 to basket 4 for tie-breaker or bonus hole.

Very easy to navigate even for the 1st timers, and from either teepad.
Well marked concrete teepads for both blue and white tees.
Water comes into play, however during dry summer not really an issue.
Holes 8-14 is in woods, however they are pretty open and easy to drop your score on these holes.
Nice pavillion with lots of tables.
Nice small playground for kiddos.
Lots of shade.
Driving range is a cool touch.

Not sure all of the measurements are correct. I normally throw max 315-330, and on 8 it states 375 from the white tee. I overthrew the basket on both rounds. Some of the others seem off by a bit, but I was not walking around with a measuring device either.
Parking was fine, however I can see how this could be an issue on busy days.
Scary to wonder how bad this place can flood during rains. There is a flood gauge between 4-5 that shows 6 feet depth.

Fun course. I played pushing my kids in a double jogger and flew through the course. Played for 30 min at playground, then played another round.

Hole one is labeled as a par 4, even from the short pad. It should definitely be a par 3.

This is a clean and safe park that is well maintained by the city parks dept.Every hole is complete with short and long tees along with discatcher baskets and good signage as well.

There are plenty of good ace opportunities if you can throw it straight

The course flows easily enough,but there is a map located on the bulletin board near the parking lot.
Restrooms and water fountain are located at the picnic pavilion between the parking and hole #1( you will pass these and the bulletin board on the way to the first tee)
The driving range next to #7 is a great and unique feature that makes this course stand out a little

Almost every hole can be reached with a straight flat shot, the longs change this a little but mostly add just length.
If it has rained recently forget about it.At least 75% of the course turns to mud and puddles.

In the summer and fall the mosquitoes are terrible due to all the standing water around the trees along the back nine,

Holes 4,5,7,17,18 all border the creek. It can get pretty windy on the more open front nine but the trees keep it calm on the back

There are two large parking lots(and a few spaces near the first holes) parking can get bad due to the popularity of this course by DGers and non-golfers alike.

This is another great course in the DFW area. I drove from Fort Worth to play this course and it was well worth the drive. I will be back to play it again.

The city of Mesquite continues to install new courses with high quality equipment. Nice large sized concrete tees on both long and short tee pads. Sweet dual chain Discatcher Pro baskets are easy to see from a distance. Tee signs include an individual map of each hole and are located on high visibility yellow posts. The course boasts a nice variety of lefty vs. righty holes. The maintenance of this course is evident by the grounds conditions, there was minimal trash and wood chips had been placed down over muddy areas. Recently installed foot bridges make crossing the creek much easier. The Blue tee on #5 is a great tricky hole for RHBH... throw the risky big anny and risk the creek, or a forehand flick, or run the gauntlet of trees. Restrooms and water fountain by parking lot at Hole #1.

No significant elevation in play. The distance posted for hole #10 is not accurate the basket is much closer than the listed ~400'. Perhaps the basket was moved up after the signs were printed to minimize conflicts with #11 tee pads. Several of the baskets are too close to the subsequent tee boxes such that they endanger players teeing off on the next hole. There is a creek that will eat some discs for bad throws on #7, #17, and #18 and to a lesser (or shallower) degree on #4 and #5. Basket #2 is pretty close to a children's playground so be wary of throws in that area. Parking lots are somewhat small and could fill on busy days.

I played on a week night and the course was really busy with a mixture of casual and serious players. I was playing solo and had no problems playing through several groups. This was a fun course to play and I would easily play it again if I was in the area. Props to Mesquite, keep up the good work!

Complete with concrete tee boxes for a par and pro par - this is a real 36-hole course if you want it to be. The tees are 6x12 and each was fully marked with a color sign complete with picture and yardage. Make sure you keep track when playing the blue (pro par) versus the white (par) tees.

The creek makes a person work, especially on hole 5 (good risk versus reward). After a rain storm some of the feeder streams become real hazards as well.

Good location in the park and most holes are flat and stroller friendly, however some of the bridges over the creeks are not. There are also restroom facilities and a playground in the park to occupy the kids.

BEST HOLE/S: #5

Hole #6 and #16 felt like pinball holes and hole #6 felt like a filler just to get to a long wide open hole #7. Some players may feel that this course is too short, but the holes under 200 feet are tight with trees and obstacles.

The course map is on the way to hole five and fairly out of the way of the first tee. This is coupled with some awkward flow between pin and tees through the first 6 holes.

Hole 10 through 15 are shorter and more technical which may turn off some players, and I noticed that the sign yardage (hole 10 is a good example) didn't feel very accurate. My buddy hit the basket (six inches from in) with a ¾ strength throw and the hole is listed at 375'. I would say it felt more like 275'.

WORST HOLE/S: #6

With a short but diverse 18-hole course, I had low to medium expectations for Paschall, but walked away feeling very satisfied with my round, the course, and its challenges. I played this course after three straight days of downpours, but even in the thick mud I enjoyed myself immensely. All holes played some type of water because of the rain, and many holes became true risk versus reward shots.

While the course flow wasn't perfect - given the fact that there are 36 viable holes of golf here I would add this to my play anytime I'm in Dallas list. It may not be the most popular course in the area, but it certainly was a gem.

This new course is very well maintained, with excellent signs, nice long tee-pads, and a fair mix of holes. There are some long holes (~650ft par 4, two ~450ft par 3s) from the Blue (pro) tees, and even the White (am) tees have some decent lengths.

There were also some short holes, a couple that required good aim, but nothing that felt unfair. The White tees (which I didn't play) had several holes that were simply short straight shots without obstructions, but perhaps that made up for a ~375ft par 3.

Following the course was reasonably easy, though there are a couple of spots (6 to 7 and 16 to 17) where you have to look around.

Also a plus was that there's really little chance you'll lose a disc. Only holes 17 and 18 have much risk of dropping a disc into a creek with water.

Biggest con was by far the fact that the Blue tees were often (6 times total) placed within the fairway of the previous hole. Perhaps they don't expect many people to be playing the pro tees, but I found it a tad ridiculous. Had a group been behind us, they would have either had to wait until we threw for our hole, or been very accurate.

These tees are usually placed off to the side of the fairway, so perhaps the feeling was that they wouldn't get in the way. But I'm an amateur who prefers to play harder settings, and so when I'm throwing 300' ft, I'm likely to be 20 yards off the mark.

That's really the only serious con. The area is flat, so there isn't much opportunity for height changes. There are creeks, but all but one is dried up (this might be a good thing).

Parking was a little odd; there's a few parking spots near the 1st hole, but most of the parking is further into the park, so you have a little walk to the tee. Also, there isn't a practice basket. There appears to be one, but it is actually the basket for the 2nd hole.

I intend to play this course again with my friends. I really applaud Mesquite for putting in such a nice course. They even have a very nice scorecard that you can pick up from the Mesquite recreation center, which is apparently near the course on Galloway.

If the course gains a following, then I think it will start to feel cramped due to the tees. Or everyone will choose to play the short white ones.

I'd rate the course to be less challenging than Veteran's Park, either of the Lester Lorch courses, Lake Lewisville, and certainly easier than the new Rockwall course. However, it's closer to the city than all of those, and is therefore a good alternative.

I think it is more challenging than B.B. Owen, or most of the other 9-hole courses in close to Dallas.

Several interesing, unique hole unlike anything else I've seen in the Dallas area. Utilizes par 4s and 5s, which is something I always enjoy. It's in a very nice looking park with some intereting landscape features (creek, small rolling hills, creek, plenty of trees). Very nice tee pads (2 per hole) and great signs. Several challenging holes, pretty scenic for the most part.

Course doesn't flow very well...the first 2 holes are the hardest, and the last 2 are wide open and under 400'. Similar holes seem to be grouped together...there are 4 straight "alley" shots in a row, followed by 3 short but mainly straight wooded shots, with 2 wide open holes at the end. Many of the tees are placed in odd or potentially dangerous spots...I hear that this was the city's fault (not the designer), but it's still a safety hazard if the course is crowded. A few of the distances on the signs are clearly wrong, and one of the tee boxes is clearly facing the wrong direction.

Update: The city moved the long tee for #15 to the correct position, and a few of the baskets have been moved to new locations to keep players from landing in the next hole's fairway.

Overall, I really enjoyed this course! I'd qualify it as "good"...with some modifications and possibly a new starting / finishing point, it could be a great course! The unique holes (1-3, 12-16) are very fun and challenging, but the rest feel like "fillers"...just something to link together the good holes. My main issue is that the tees were in dangers spots (I landed on the next hole's tee 2-3 times, and those were good shots). The course flow, although a little choppy in spots, is decent overall...I personally feel that if the course began on #3, it would provide a much more complete feel. It's just weird starting on the 2 toughest holes then finishing on 2 wide-open ace runs. All-in-all: it's a course I plan on playing again next time I'm in Dallas!
