Hometown Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 6, 2011 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Wide open park, little chance of park patron interference.
Double tee pads, so course can be played as 18.
Nice size tee pads.
Facilities available.

Cons:

Not much variety.
Some trees come into play, but only on a few holes.
Course can be very wet around #1 Tee, and #7 fairway and basket.

Other Thoughts:

Good course that plays quick. Fun factor is there, especially due to the ease of play. Players of all levels can have fun here. When you leave hole #7 and are heading to #8 tee pad, tip your hat - there is a disc buried in one of the footings of the shelter.

Great Beginner Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 3, 2009 Played the course:once

Pros:

~ 2 sets of tees for 18 hole layout
~ Concrete Tees
~ Nice Flow
~ Good Mix of Long and Short Holes
~ Well maintained park

Cons:

~ Minimalistic tee signs
~ No trash cans or benches
~ Mosley open course, with a majority of the tees being in the open throwing to a guarded pin
~ Some holes can interfere with other park facilities

Other Thoughts:

Platt Park is a nice 9 hole course with 2 tees per hole allowing for an 18 hole round. The shorts are fun and make you work for a few of the deuces. The longs are just that, some nice 350 - 400 ft shots that require you to throw both hyzers and anhyzers. Overall it's a great design for the land they had to work with. This is a great course to introduce new players to the game.
