FINALLY new baskets installed (veterans). Just what this course needed to make it better. Short course but a blast to play. You gotta play it now!!

There are lots of other activities at the park and there are often a lot of people out on nice days. A variety of shots required and two sets of tee pads makes it interesting, especially in the summer months with all of the greenery. Playing in winter with all the short pin placements makes it nice for trying to ace holes. Lots of elevation changes, a minor water hazard on #4, and the worn in trails are a plus.

Lots of newer players, university kids, and people out to get drunk/stoned. Rough to play after rain as it can get very sloppy. Possible to lose discs in summer months with all the undergrowth.

I like this course, but with other courses in Charlotte, it's not on my top priority list. (Idlewild, Sugaw, Eastway, Renny, Kilborne, etc...)

Nice Concrete tees, 2 sets of tees, Worn in, 2 basket locations on every hole even some with 3, well marked, nice elevation changes, no major water hazards, cross walks and not many park goers to deal with

Lots of players on a daily basis (slow play), Almost unnatural due to high levels of play and age of course ( muddy, eroded, trash) Not good for kids due to elevated tees and mud. and also kinda shady bad part of town

Worth the trip!

This course is a beautiful course and very challenging for the new disc golfers. This course is good for the players who want more of a challenge.

This course is kind of over wooded. This obviosly makes it tough. Many of the tees are some what hard to navigate unless you have a map.

Great park and the disc golf course is well away from any distractions. Good concrete tee pads. Fairways that have clearly defined lines and not too much opportunity to lose a disc. Good use of elevation on several holes. Good signs at tee pads indicating the multiple positions for the baskets. Good bridges, walkways and stairs to navigate the course. Bathrooms at the parking lot and benches on every hole. Basket in good condition.

No wide open holes to let loose on. Course is entirely wooded. No holes that jump out at me as memorable. No real big negatives that should cause anyone to avoid this course.

I played the 'Original Layout' and the baskets were in the short position. There is also a 'Stout Layout' with alternate tee pads and longer basket positions. I liked the course and will update this review after playing the course again when the baskets are in the long position. I will probably upgrade the rating at that time to at least a 3.5 depending on how the course plays. I think that the long positions will add some challenge and additional enjoyment to a round at Reedy. Overall this classic course in Charlotte is defintely worth a stop even with all the great courses in the area.

-Good place for beginners/intermediate
-Decent variety in holes/layout given the multiple tee pads
-Good layout, signage, and maintenance

-Possibly too easy for intermediate/advanced players
-Truly a wooded course, not really open in the sense that you see "fields"
-Slightly littered, can get muddy, quite busy at peak hours

This was where I started playing dg, and of course it is one of my favorites for nostalgic reasons. It has always been challenging for me, but at the same time one can always excel here and shoot par or under with minimal fuss.
-Average course, that appeals to average ability. Good fun though!
Challenging holes:
-Six: elevation and trees are tricky, with some water on the right on your way down
-Thirteen: almost identical to eleven, only longer. severe dogleg right makes your drive difficult unless you anhyzer or throw a sick sidearm. after the drive, expect open and elevated fairway a good distance to the hole
Fourteen: I have problems with this one, because of the dogleg right and severe elevation downwards mixed with heavy woods on the right. If the drive isn't perfect, expect a tough second (its better to lay up because a run will send you down the hill).
Easiest Holes:
-Nine: this one is short, good for sidearm and rollers (I usually overshoot off the tee)
Seventeen: my personal favorite because I always excel here, you need a strong hyzer with a good amount of power. nothing too accurate is needed-thus making it "easy". Pick up a birdie here so you can hole out 18 with a par!

Overall, Reedy is a good place to get a round in. I highly recommend for those in Charlotte (you've already played RC multiple times I bet) and the surrounding area. I wouldn't drive more than 20 minutes for it though.....if you know what I mean.

Fun tight course. Short holes for the most part. Technical; good for those with lesser arm strength but consistency off the tee. Can be very unforgiving as the woods are deep and mean throughout. Good variety of shots needed. Nestled in a big beautiful park with lots to see. Easy to navigate. Lots of evevation changes. It's a good course to start with if youre in the Charlotte area and will help prepare you for some of the challenges presented in the other harder courses nearby.

Not very pretty as far as courses go. Lots of muddy hills and fairways. Some rather nasty foul looking creeks come into play here and there. No open holes which limits the variety to a degree.

This is a good course to hone your accuracy on. Dont need to torque the hell out of your tee shot to get a birdie chance.

Undulating landscape, maintained, defined, but challenging fairways.

Charlotte's oldest disc golf course, Reedy Creek is the classic "woods course," but a nice one. Playing over hilly terrain, the course makes excellent use of the landscape, and features long, reasonable fairways carved out of an old forest with many impressive trees.

The amenities at Reedy Creek are excellent, with great tee pads, signs, benches, and next tee signs where they're needed. The course is in good shape too, with the fairways well maintained and just right in their challenge: not an unreasonable amount of trees to work around, but certainly not easy. And the layout makes good use of the hills, with plenty of cool downhill shots, a few uphill challenges, a few doglegs, and a few challenging basket placements. The fairways are often long, but again, not real long like Patapsco or Rockburn Branch. But there's enough 300-foot holes for even the big arms.

Overall, Reedy Creek is good woods course, plenty challenging and pretty. Don't skip over it if you're in the Charlotte area and enjoy the precision and length needed to excel in this kind of disc golf environment.

Favorite Hole - #10 - Long, slight downhill tee shot and then right hook uphill to basket set back in the trees.
