Pros:
Hard to add much on top of the prior reviews, but here goes:
- Scenic setting next to the Delaware River with nice Discatcher baskets and it's frequently mowed.
- Surprisingly good use of the few trees on the property to make many of the holes more interesting than just simple open field shots. And a couple (#1 and #4) are long enough to require a full-out driver shot.
- Easy to find, and has plenty of parking right next to the sign for tee #1.
- Water is close by but only a limited threat on two holes (#4 & #5).
- Holes are positioned away from walking paths and the athletic courts, so even though it's in a multi-use park you're away from other park visitors.
- Quick to play, uncrowded course just a couple minutes off I-295.
Cons:
- No tee pads or tee signs, and no flags marking them anymore either. Saw no sign of red or "long" blue tee locations anywhere. You REALLY have to rely on the course map to get an idea of where to tee off from. There are worn-in dirt patches at the white tees (I think?) for #1, #3, and #6, but you'll just have to pick a spot to tee off from for all the other holes.
- Have to throw to the same basket for #4 and #5 since the old #4 basket has been removed (yes, it requires silly backtracking).
- No signature or particularly interesting hole, just kind of blah/typical lightly wooded holes.
- There's enough space that at least 3 more holes could be added and still be away from the other park amenities.
Other Thoughts:
- Overall, it's an average lightly wooded 9 holer that makes for an average playing experience. Beginner friendly course where advanced players can expect a few birdies. The two biggest problems are the lack of tees and that the holes are just not all that interesting.
- A nice place to bring the family to introduce them to the sport, or to walk the river trail and play other sports (there's basketball courts, an open field, etc.) for an afternoon.
