Other Thoughts:
Riverview DGC is a reasonable course located in a part of Oakland Mills County Park just SW of Mt. Pleasant, IA. This part of the park is on the north side of the river with most of the rest of the park on the south. It is a mostly open and straight shot course with just a couple of holes at potentially over 400' depending on pin positions. There is a drainage ditch to play over on the long pin of #6 (was in the short pin on my round). #7 plays along the ditch, but the trees on the left keep it out of play. #8 plays in the trees closer to the water, but not much in play either. #9 has this ditch behind it, so only a long throw over the basket will cause issue there. There is a line of trees that you work through on #1 and #5 and possibly #4 depending on pin placement. #8 is the only wooded hole. #8 basket to #9 tee is a little klunkly, but otherwise flow is fine. There is another course on the other side of the river (The Woodland Trail) that starts with #10, so these two are sort of linked, but very different. A sign at the start notes this as the 100th PDGA sanctioned course in Iowa, which is kind of a cool footnote. Did not see any restaurants near the #6 basket, so no tenderloin for me. The course overall is OK, decent for a course bag, but I'd rather play East Lake Park, if I was in the area again.
