You’re Rock Canyon Baby 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 25, 2016 Played the course:once

Pros:

+hilly, good workout for the legs
+scenic views of the valley
+concrete tee pads

Cons:

-easy to lose discs in the rough
-there's routes to every basket but a couple routes fly over thick sagebrush and so upshots don't always have good footing
-baskets are not pretty and are not championship caliber
-navigation a little tricky, scouting ahead for baskets very necessary on a couple holes
-need good grippy shoes for the rocky terrain

Other Thoughts:

Even though I thought I was being careful by not throwing with 100% power on the blind holes, I still managed to lose two discs on this 10 basket course. Bring the map along, you'll need it. Difficult to locate a couple of the baskets in the sagebrush. I appreciated the climbing up and down on the side of the mountain though---I'm a player that likes a course that is a workout too, and this course delivers in that department.

Workout with your Worst Discs 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 29, 2016 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Course design has a variety of challenging holes. Dense woods, uphill throws, downhill throws, Baskets off to the left and right.
The course is a workout due to all the hills.
Concrete tee pads and a good map at the beginning

Cons:

Difficult footing, especially on holes 6 and 10.
Sometimes a little difficult to navigate and many holes are better with a spotter.
Extensive undergrowth makes errant throws difficult to retrieve, sometimes impossible to find.
Some graffiti and disrepair on the signage

Other Thoughts:

Not a course for beginners.
Map shows multiple hole placements, but they never seem to move.
It's better to throw your least favorite discs here, in case they get lost.
I typically play an 18 hole variant on this course because it sees such little traffic and is close by. Here's how it goes: after hole 2: play from the tee for 3 to the basket for 9, from the telephone poles near basket 9 to the basket for 8, from the tee for 9 to the basket for 4, from nearby tee 5 to the basket for 3, from nearby the basket for 3 (or tee for 4) to the basket for 2 (this brings you back to the standard hole 3). After the normal hole for 7, play from the tee for 8 to the basket for 5, from near basket 5 to basket 8, from the tee for 9 to the basket for 7, then back to hole 8 to complete the course.

Pros:

Good workout getting from hole to hole, fun holes. Great view of the valley.

Cons:

Terrible vision, have a spotter on most holes. Holes aren't that easy to find. Lots of trees in the way.

Other Thoughts:

Not a course for beginners!
