Underrated!

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 27, 2023 Played the course:once

Pros:

- Lots and lots of elevation both up and down
- Plenty of obstacles/trees, bushes, big rocks, hills, etc.
- Two mini 'top of the world' holes for your putter or mid
- Interesting basket locations reward the brave and accurate
- Really good views of the surrounding mountains and town
- Isolated from other park users, this is a DG only area

Cons:

- Difficult to navigate without Udisc
- Blind basket locations are hard to scout when you're throwing off of a hill.
- Favors RHBH or LHFH players heavily
- Potential for lost discs or long searching times
- Spotters are almost required
- NOT for beginners

Other Thoughts:

This place was a surprise. I was in the area and loaded this up, didn't look at any information about it, thought it was going to be your typical 9 hole course and boy was I shocked. This is the most rugged 9 hole course I've ever played, and one of the best as well. I really disagree with overall rating of this course and I think it's well worthy of a replay the next time I'm in this area. Now that I know where the baskets and tee pads are I think it'll be easier the next time. This is not built for a 15 minute round for the baggers, that being said it's a very unique course especially for a 9 holer. Come and check this place out, I think you'll enjoy it.

Underrated 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Dec 14, 2014 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Lots of open shots, technically challenging as under/overthrowing can make you pay severely. Lots of FUN holes, opportunities for big Thumbers, huge flex shots, and downhill distance bombs. This course is actually set up to play as 21 holes, playing to the same baskets, if you know the layout. I recently put an updated 21 layout on UDISC, so look for that. Beautiful scenery, good conditions year round.

Cons:

Rough rocky terrain, requires a great deal of stamina. Lots of shrubbery and hazards, can be very difficult to find your discs when playing alone. I recommend using a spotter on hole 4, 5, 7, 15, and 17, As a 10 hole it's a decent course, learning and playing it as the 21 layout makes it better.

Other Thoughts:

I feel this course is very underrated, although it has seen many recent improvements such as cement teepad, and tall basket markers with reflective tape. Several holes you can't see the basket above the tree line, but you can see the stick sticking out of the basket above it. Great place to hone in overhead techniques, but discs can get lost. The wind can do some crazy things up there. I have seen several shots go hundreds of feet off target. I recommend going with someone who knows the layout, and spot each others shots on longer holes. This course can definitely be played solo, but I would definitely not do it unless you know the course. The 6th time I played here was solo, and I didn't lose any of my discs or get lost. Despite the intense terrain, and dramatic layout it's really not too challenging of a course, but is very fun to play.

Tough without a map 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Mar 3, 2010 Played the course:once

Pros:

Nice cement tee pads, and I really enjoyed the challenge of the elevation change on many of the holes. I was just passing through the area, and only had two putters to play the round with, but it was nice to get out and play again.

Cons:

Tough to find the holes, especially without a map. Once I found the first tee pad, I basically just threw in the general direction that the pad was facing, then walked around and found the basket. The day I played there were patches of snow still on the ground, so the underbrush wasn't much of an issue. I skipped hole six because I had not read any reviews and didn't know there was no tee pad.

Other Thoughts:

Be sure to download a map from tudg.com before you play, I think it would make it much more enjoyable. Over all It is a fun course, it could just use a little TLC. The view over the valley is very nice also.
