Playable, but don't go out of your way 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 30, 2020 Played the course:once

Pros:

Good use of minimal amount of land. The layout is behind and around existing baseball and soccer fields, in the "leftover" space. It has a good mix of long and short holes.

Cons:

Mostly cons. The limited amount of land available makes some tricky holes, but out of necessity rather than creativity. There are only 9 baskets for the 18 hole layout. You snake between baseball and soccer fields one direction, then play different teepads back through the same baskets. And then, FOXTAILS.
If you aren't aware, these are the evil yellow grasslike things that burrow through your socks and stab you. They are EVERYWHERE. You might spend more time picking them out of my socks and shoes than you do playing.

Other Thoughts:

I understand you have to make do with the land available to design a course, and there's not much else to be done with this section of land. That being said, Arizona has some nice courses in Show Low and Flagstaff that are worth a roadtrip - this course does not hold this distinction. If you're passing through and want to throw a round, go for it, but do not go out of your way to add this one to your list of played courses.
